For some reason I see part of a car engine made out of copper. :) However you want to look at it, it's cool. I think art that everyone sees something new and different in is the best kind, it's fun.

Quetzlcoatl carved from chocolate...I see Aztec too. Coolness
gizemko3 (Jun 20, 2007)

Of course you sent me browsing your gallery, because apparently I haven't seen it all. The use of strokes for the rock is brilliant!

frightening!
Dr.Moony (Jun 7, 2007)
Great piece.
I would love to see you investing like 10 hours into such a painting. The amount of details would surely blow me away. But I know that 10 hours are crazy ass long and you need to be on drugs or something like that to keep the impulse. :D
Sketcher_V (Jun 9, 2007)
ok now, i totally am falling in love with this one. the lights and contrast are captivating , almost palpable , the abstraction gives a very strong ambiance combined with the colors you used, i really dig it.

Oooo, I did something like this once on youdraw. Of course it's much better when it's in color.
The sky, the moon, the trees and branches and twigs. Do do like this one muchly.
PS (Jun 6, 2007)
Looks nice, I like how you did the sky, it works.
Wraith (edited Jun 6, 2007)
Really nice! Reminds me of a scary night alone. In the wilderness. Hoping that whatever is lurking, does not see me.
Childlike_Vampire (Jun 7, 2007)
This was from a camera phone shot I did of the moon standing in front of my house pointing it straight (as I could manage) upwards. I just made a sketch of it and had fun with the rest.

Thanks very much! :D

FIRST STEP:
HAVE FUN! CHOOSE A BRUSH YOU LIKE AND PUT AS MANY COLORS ON THE CANVAS AS YOU'D LIKE. PLAY. PLAY. PLAY. I CAN'T EMPHASIZE THIS ENOUGH. THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE FUN, SO HAVE FUN WITH IT. THE DIRECTION OF YOUR STROKES DON'T HAVE TO BE ANY 'ONE' WAY. BE CREATIVE! DOING THIS TO MUSIC YOU LIKE IS ESPECIALLY RECOMMENDED.

Oh CRAP! You did a tutorial like I asked? Donna, this is amazing and if I could I'd reach through the screen and hug you. I knew you used all the special tools I just didn't know how you did it. Honey, thanks for this, you know I gotta try now. Do wish we could have a fave folder, this would go right in. (((((Donna)))))

Btw, awesome picture, and I love the little added bubble on the left.
davincipoppalag (Jun 5, 2007)
Fun fun fun! You just defined...FUN hehe..You're fun! ;0)
diver2026 (Jun 6, 2007)
wow I'll have to play with all the tools more, this is so pretty
Miss_DJ (edited Jun 6, 2007)
I'm happy you like this! I hope the tutorial makes sense, if anyone has any questions, feel free to memo me.

Here's my favorite example using this method for part of a picture: http://zoraw.cellosoft.com/data/8/86673/86673-v2.jpg

this is another example of the same technique: http://zoraw.cellosoft.com/data/8/83752/83752-v2.jpg

It kind of looks like an indian rock painting coming alive, very nice work.
Dr.Moony (Jun 5, 2007)
Playing with shapes is the best way to clear my head too. The thin lines add a lot of interesting structure to this painting which looks even better than I thought judging by it's thumbnail....Great job!
solve (Jun 5, 2007)
Wow you have some crazy textures going on in here. From the smoke, wispy thick lines, thin scratchy lines. Oh, and the colors. Great work!
Roytje (Jun 5, 2007)
Thanks alot! I didn't expect so much comments on this one :)

I look at this and think of a Pheonix rising from the flames. I know it's cliche but I can actually see it in the streams of flames. I just love how you make your paint strokes look thick and substantial. Did that make sense? :)
HunterKiller_ (Jun 5, 2007)
I like solve's interpretation. Intense rolling hot oil. =)
two-na (Jun 6, 2007)
perfect. lots going on, and still very nice
good, this, kloxboy

mmm i love the flow and movement. when i was little(er) I used to spend hours dropping food colouring in water and watching the patterns of the die swirling around. this reminds me of that.

Hey 2Draw ... it's Dr.Snoopy. The one who left you with nasty words.
I want to say sorry for what I said a few months ago. It was wrong to insult everyone, especially Dave didn't deserve such a lowering treatment.

I was just really annoyed by all these seemingly pointless comments I read here and especially on DeviantArt. Some personal problems were also a reason for my overreactions.
I hope we can sort things out, because I actually enjoy this place. ;)
