I really like Frank Frazetta. His paintings are awesome but what I really love about him is his imagination, the fact that he painted his stuff really fast, that he had no problem starting to use his left hand. That guy was a real inspiration and ass kicker. Imagination is king |

mmm lush colors, very nice
Teapot (May 30, 2010)
I'm liking how this abstract flips my mind back and forth between landscape imagery and suggestions of a figure but is obviously neither. I love looking at the part where the blues turn into the dark purples. |

This is really really neat! It reminds me of a ceramic sculpture or something. It's very depthful and shimmery.
Bobstained (Jan 8, 2010)

This is such an "awesome" creature, it looks so real, too. wow. wonderful, he could be in a movie, for real. Yes,good idea about the experimenting, to see just what the software and combinations wuill do.

Are the visions you're talking about visually clear and lasting? Care to tell me about one of them? :)
I feel like I've been relying a little too much on *happy* accidents with my paintings. Most of the time I just start to draw a few lines and then screwing with them until they turn into something I like. I can't really say beforehand what's going to come out and I have to live with what the canvas throws at me.
Reading about Frank gives me an incentive to practice a a different workflow where I aim for a straight vision.
If, for example you had a stroke, and you only could use the left side of your body, I have known people who train themselves how to paint with their left hand. Not easy, but when you have to do it, you can train that side of your brain to do it eventually.it just takes a huge amount of practice and training.Ouch.
