Happy Birthday jessie...this is a beautiful painted looking picture. I won't even MENTION the word. OLD........

Dig the mouth and eyes. And the unobtrusive text. Works well.
Miss_DJ (May 30, 2007)

well done, my dad would LOVE you :) I'm gonna show him this (I just showed him and he said to thank you for doing that and that it's a real good one) :)

my grandpa woud like this. he was a marine back in the day. he was almost killed in viet nam. they were shooting at his fox hole and his partner abandoned him inside it. then an african american man jumped in and helped my grandfather fend on the enemy. if it weren't for that african american man...who knows what would have happend. what's weird is that the vietnese would send children with bombs in their bikes and bags- women too! RANDOM TANGY!!! srry, mkay, good drawing. i like it alot .
DeadlyBlondeArcher (May 28, 2007)
My little brother was a Marine, ... we owe our thanks to all branches of the service, though. It's wonderful to see someone remember what the holiday is really supposed to be about, and to do a tribute like this. Thank you.
fleeting_memory (May 28, 2007)
Thanks you guys-and yeah all the branches are honored today-the marines just happen to be closest to my heart.

DeadlyBlondeArcher (May 27, 2007)
i bet we wouldn't talk quite as much as you think, Lori... when other people are around... I more picture us as making eye contact... knowing what the other is thinking, rolling our eyes simultaneously and giggling alot. =]
Aubrey (May 27, 2007)

this was really appealing to me...it's going to sound a little 'off the wall'.. but... I have walked along the beach at times when no one else desired to be there... so I was completely alone... usually it's in the rain, or in the cold, or during a torrential storm, sometimes it's just during the blazing heat of the day when everyone is tired and hungry and their kids are sunburned and crying and it's time to go in... they do... and I stay. That's my favorite time. You'd think you would feel alone... because the closest people are closed in the beach houses up the shore, bathing, cooking, laughing, watching tv, or a huge fishing boat that looks like a toy boat a mile out at sea, or a massive oil rig coming into the jetty, but... i don't feel alone. I feel surrounded by 'life'. The ocean is full of life, and so is the shore. That's what I saw in your little painting here... all of the little sand crabs, clams, and the sea shells... they either contain a life or they have a history of life.... each one has a face. Driftwood from a structure completely across the other side of the ocean, stones from buildings far away, there's so much mystery to wonder at.... all in the sand along the shore of the ocean. Everything seems to have a face... 'life'... this is what i see in this painting... so i love it. if it were on canvas i would BUY IT, take it to the beach house and hang it on the wall. There it would need no explanation. ;0

thumbs up on this one, lor =]

I love small, simple pictures like this. Very nice indeed.
DeadlyBlondeArcher (May 25, 2007)
a series of a variation of those would make beautiful tiles
Sweetcell (May 25, 2007)
I'd love this printed on a long piece of fabric, say drapery length, then hang it on my wall. Make for beautiful art. Or a bookmark. I love bookmarks, I collect them when I can.
