No!!!! You can't squeeeeeze somebody or make them feel warm and snuggley with parentheses, you just can't. As much as I use those, I think that's the first time I actually ever typed the word. I wonder if I spelled it right.
Zinc (Nov 16, 2006)
I second DBA on this one... which is why I pitifully came up with "cheer up."
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Nov 16, 2006)
I don't think the "cheer up" was pitiful, I thought it was very heartfelt... (I was right :)
pancakes_rock (Nov 16, 2006)

Oooo very nice, Cindy! Knew it was him immediately. :D
Zappo (Nov 21, 2006)
This has a very deep sense of depth to it. I like the noise in the backround it has a very subtile way of isolation the subject. I'll have to try that one of these days.
sincity (Nov 28, 2006)
I'm enthralled. :}

Sweetcell (Nov 16, 2006)
Woah, I agree with Dave, seems to capture the characters of the filthy rich. I love seeing new Clox pictures.

I hate money. I really, truly, absolutely hate it. It ruins really good people, it's a nuisance, and if I were queen there would be no currency of any kind.

just practicing soft contrast

time is way off.

ref was used but I wasn't trying to draw the ref. I just need to look at something with soft contrast.
It looked better before i started playing aroung with it and redrawing it, but this looks ok too I guess.

I like soft. Butterfly wings are soft, down feathers are soft, new grass is soft, kisses are soft, babies are soft (and they smell good, too). This makes me think of times when I stare at a patterned surface for a long time (like the wallpaper in my room when I was little, the marble floor in my bathroom, or the bark of a tree when I'm hunting)... eventually I find faces in it somewhere... I think the human brain is somehow programmed to do that. This is vague and soft, but still definite. I like it. A lot of your art is soft but nobody ever fusses at you for it, like they do me. I'm jealous. :)
DarkCloak (Nov 15, 2006)
Nice one Derrick, I think you should use refs more often.
davincipoppalag (Nov 15, 2006)
You should draw more of this kind of thing, Derrick you're good at it > I would like it sharper, though (<I did that for Cindy)

I really, really like this one. It has this illusion of movement, like he's going to be sucked up and out of the picture... kind of like a backdraft or something. Tell him to stop screaming, I have a headache. :)
IkariIreuL (Nov 14, 2006)
Pretty baby, looks like a solve one but the shading is from clox.
DarkCloak (Nov 15, 2006)
He reminds me of the human torch from the Fantastic Four.
Sweetcell (Nov 16, 2006)
Excellent......

Looks like a pumped up dryad, or a tree being in general. Wicked cool Clox.

not sure about this experiment- may revise or delete... but short on space...

Hey, this is very nice. Looks sort of Egyptian and something else.
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Nov 14, 2006)
You may already know this, but if you work on things while they are (Unfinished(Hidden), you can start them on a higher board, utilize the space there, then move them down to the board you originally intended to post on right before you post it Finished. (as long as you don't exceed the canvas size for the intended board, and don't go way over on the space limit, it usually works)

This is really intriguing... it's almost like a cross between a really cool street mural and an ancient Egyptian cave painting.
cmb (Nov 17, 2006)
Thanks for that info- no I didnt know that! worth keeping in mind!
