I grew neck bolts a couple of days ago while I was sick. Robocop couldn't stop me from puking and fussing, no balls to be bustin' no fighting no cussing, just love for a drug called Robitussin.

Thanks all for the comments. but to address the second to last comment: how does one's picture get in the showcase? are there particular steps that are needed to be taken for this to happen?
marcello (Oct 4, 2004)
basically it's an elitist buddy-back-patting system which has no real relation to actual quality of art or an formal guidelines or process...
so to answer your question, no there aren't any particular steps.
Kasha (Oct 4, 2004)
AC gets my vote. *pats back* ;)

I have a feeling someone is going to take the comment seriously and make a big deal about it because they have no life and thus have to create drama online to make it interesting. JUST a premonition

anyways. Alex Cooper! I already commented on this in DA. Looks just like your ink drawings. You're doing so good on these programs :)
Alex-Cooper (Oct 4, 2004)
Thanks Kasha. And Marcello, pretty damn funny. Kind of reminds me of another art community. Wait a minute, that would be an accurate description of EVERY art community. Good thing this one wasn't made with a cookie cutter.

deviantart.com makes me want to smoke crack till poodles are funny and cut off my hands.

Far from being done. I'm going through a stylized Egyptian phase.

I got a little lazy with the coloring, and I'm tired of working on this.

I'm a slacker. --;

nice pic... cool idea...
monk (Oct 3, 2004)
I like the what you did with the sky. The sun and stars are superb.
bumpinthenight (Oct 3, 2004)
very awesome.... looks good to me! there are some places where the coloring could use more depth, but if you are tired of this pic, I can understand... dont worry... it looks great! :) the sun is uber cool, by the way!

I wanted to do what may or may not be considered Audioslave fanart. Since it's just Chris Cornell, it could be Soundgarden fanart too.

I love Audioslave... too bad they only made one CD, and I can't find mine! :)
davincipoppalag (Oct 2, 2004)
I like the look of this one. Is this a copy of something from one of their CD covers, or is this your own scene? Good job either way
Cianteed (Oct 3, 2004)
The scene is my own, but I did use a reference from the CD booklet to finish up the face.

I like the statues they build in graveyards. They often build some really nice ones. It is mostly the dead young people and the children who get the most beautiful statues on their tombstones. I once saw a strange looking angel holding a piece of broken glass. I have also heard that some thieves often steal these statues. I heard of a story of a little girl who was not older than 4 or 5 years old when she died and her parents hired a very skillful sculptor to create an extremely accurate and lifesize statue of their little girl with angel wings. And decades after her death, graverobbers stole the entire statue and the parents felt very sad. <:(

This is so dramatic it left me in awe. I love how she drapes herself over the pedestal as if she is weeping and lost. You dig deep inside of yourself when you draw and you should continue to do that.

Because we're all a bunch of pixel-pushing pirates.

Inspired by Ty854's t-shirt design.

Haha, I love it Zack. Although very simple, its awesome, and well done.
kejoco (edited Oct 2, 2004)
This would make a great t shirt design
nice concept zack
Someone should look into getting these printed, aren't there sites where you can get your designs printed fairly cheap and only on demand?
I'm sure there would be people on this site who would want a t shirt like this
I know its been discussed before but i think someone should make a go of it
Anna (Oct 2, 2004)
Oooo great final version! Looks good!

If I'm the one holding the sword it is.
Cianteed (Sep 30, 2004)
bump - it's not the quantity of time spent on the drawing, it's the quality. ;)

I'd say, experiment with more tools. Do get solid, professional lines, try the pen tool and raise the grey slide bar to max (255). Even if you dont want to use lineart, dramatic shadows and highlights help make a picture give off a greater impact.
