dorothyblueeyes (Nov 1, 2010)
Happy Late Halloween, did not know,as usual, there was a contest; guess there is secret code club, that you have to belong to,to be notified?Which week is which?Gotta get complex calendar. Most inconspicuous contests I've ever seen.I guess you have to hang out here 24 hrs. a day,to keep track.Yes,Virginia, there is a female werewolf, and she prays on men at Halloween,at the full moon. Had to rush this next morn. after Halloween, as usual, late.

I have to make a comment on this content; the point was to have a female werewolf trap a helpless male, but, she is obviously very female, in spite of being a ferocious killer. I did this on purpose. This is partly a statement of an obviously sexy, well endowed FEMale werewolf, who can corner and kill a human adult male, while she is flaunting her sexuality. Usually women who are nude, are seen as vulnerable and harmless. Also, women who are obviously sexy, and show it, are not seen as a threat in society. They are usually the VICTUMS. Besides scaring the viewer (and the guy about to be eaten) I wanted to show that the very sexy female CAN be a threatening being. You do not have to look like a man,or boy,or a lesbian in dockers, for a woman to be a ferocious killer,or a threat to men. Notice that many women who were devastating sexy movie stars, were also very intelligent, and clever. That whole myth about "women who are well endowed,or sexy, are not smart,or very good at careers,or business, is just that." MYTH.

Also, I do notice the conjunction of "sex and death" is very well illustrated. We know that sexual urges are closely tied to violence, war, and fighting. There fore, it could be said that the very sexiest tableau would be a scene of blood, or murder, death, and very sexual figures at the same time. I do not think I am the first artist to use this theme. However, my intention was to really show a threatening, ferocious, murdering, blood thirsty female,(werewolf) who was not hiding behind clothes,or acting prim,or non-human, but was as fully sexual in appearance, as she was horrible and scary. I believe that it makes the female appear far more scary, to appear so wild and primitive, and hence unclothed. Primitive people who go to war, are often pictured as not wearing many clothes, and it does not make them appear any less formidable or dangerous. Actually, it's just the opposite. Interesting concept. Or,I may just be a pervert.

This image has an interesting light source...as if the fear is what is generating it. You need to meet one of my favourite Hindu gods...Kali, the Destroyer.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kali

Not all cultures objectify females in order to render them powerless. Men wouldn't have to work so hard to keep women oppressed if they weren't scared shitless. I'm convinced that all the nastiness perpetrated by humans has its basis in some sort of fear or other.

every two weeks or so a new contest is announced.
marcello (Nov 2, 2010)
the latest contest is always visible at the top of the contest board: http://2draw.net/boards/special.contest/

You can also get to this page by clicking "browse" and then "contest" from the browse page.

If it's a recent post, you will even see it listed on the 2draw.net front page under "latest forum posts" on bottom right.

If that's still not clear enough, let us know how we could improve the visibility.

dorothyblueeyes (edited Nov 1, 2010)
oh,crap, not only is it horrific,so horrible, it is realistic, like it is real!!WAY TO GO!!! (DAvinci, you started with a black and white undercoat, and then you did what?did you then add a reddish coat over that, and then the green? Like to know what yer process was. I'd swear it looks like a dark red undercoat,to start,(with black)and then the greenish glaze. Hmmm...very sophisticated, "I'm not worthy!I'm not worthy!!"--just by chance,do you do pottery??It is a being, but also reminds me of sophisticated ceramic glaze. wonderful. )
davincipoppalag (Nov 1, 2010)
I started with the sort of greenish gray and I use a lot of layers when I'm adding things.. I don't knowwhat order I did them but all just added in layers.. I did some pottery work in college for a couple of years..

The feeling you have when you're afraid that the one thing you love most in your life may be slipping away and no matter how hard you fight to keep it, maybe you just can't win.

padmooks (edited Oct 26, 2010)
Contest Week 104: Emotions So, hardly anyone entered the last contest. LAME. all of you suck, however SEND ME YOUR CONTEST SUGGESTIONS, and you might just get your contest idea picked. This week is going to be emotions, happy, sad, jubilant, melancholy... ONE CATCH. it has to be the emotion you are feeling right now. as your reading this. art is one of the best nets for emotion, and I think often with digital drawing we get caught up in the technical jibber jabber of drawing, ...

Hello, judges. This is whatever the opposite of pandering is called.
Suntan (Oct 19, 2010)
Refusal? ...great repulsion in v2..might as well enjoy Autumn's greatness, like she is..and dread what's coming. Nicely done, Teapot! :)

This is wonderful.

Thanks all. I was thinking about your style of painting when I did this, Roytje, so I'm really pleased you like it. I so want to be able to draw more dynamic landscapes and I often look at yours for inspiration.

Congrats, Cyclops. This is such a kick ass caricature, very funny. I'm not sure if I'd have the good grace to laugh if you did one of me, though!

My first and last contirbute to the theme board as is my last contribute to 2draw as well. I've decided to leave under circumstances of feeling it being unfair that I'm unable to support the site by donation, as Marcello has so bluntly stated many times that he needs to keep this wonderful site up and running, and therefore will not take advantage of such a despirate situation. I've enjoyed all the lovely comments on my work here on 2draw as the talent of the many other artists. And so with out further adue...I leave you all in the midst with this image and say farewell and happy sketching for those who've come to love Oekaki as I have. ~Chow

This is truly awsome I think it's awsome how you put it in black and white then just added a touch of color in his eyes and on his sword! That's tallent there!
renzokukenO2 (Mar 30, 2005)
omg it looks so nice! i love squall ^^ you are very artistically skilled...
snowprincess (Feb 13, 2006)
i know it takes a lot of skill to properly rip off a picture off the internet of a final fantasy picture, but this is just amazing. i like how his eyes are unnaturally and freakishly long and none of the textures match or look good in any context. good job
Zennana (Apr 12, 2006)
Its definetly Squall! I love the details you have on it and how you only coloured his eyes. Very beautiful. <33
