It would look real if you used darker blacks and whiter whites. It looks more like fingernail polish. Check out my peice (A rose by any other name...)

That looks nothing like water. Water is transparent. Look at some photos of what you're trying to draw, google images is a good place to start.

Although I can't say im too big on the subject matter, I like the shading in their hair. <3

Though, I think you could have toned down the blush a tad, I think you've improved quite nicely over the past while. :)

I'm in love with the hair. o__o Maybe you could start implementing a similar technique (cell shading, basically) on the eyes and the rest of the body? ^_^
