Where can you go when it feels like everything is pushing down on you?

Wonderful!

Very nice colors and I love the small touch of '70's' looking stars =)
Teapot (Apr 12, 2010)
It was fun watching your animation. I like the background but I liked the floor better before you made it all black. That shine on her hair is so nicely done. I like the way you carried the colours in the pillow up into the composition using the star. Also her posture with the rounded, slumped shoulders does a great job of conveying that 'weight of the world' feeling. Very imaginative.

Thank you you guys! And teapot! Thanks for such a wonderful comment! in retrospect I agree that the floor was better before it was black and i'm happy you liked the animation :)

EDIT: I'll add more to this some other time. It's out of proportion and sort of bugging me now, plus I can't draw hands to save my life. Oh well though, the thumbnail turned out pretty well.

I kind of feel like I've suddenly obtained more talent than I thought I had. I know this drawing isn't perfect, or even done for that matter, but I think my last two drawings are a big improvement from my previous ones. It's as though the way I see things has just changed and I suddenly understand better. I've never had any real training in art apart from some high school art classes, so I'm pretty self taught, and I feel rather proud of myself for improving.

Thank you. =)
And no, the rough lines aren't intentional, I'm a little rusty with lascaux sketch and am having trouble smoothing the lines. Any suggestions would be fantastic.
Also, the next piece I'm going to be doing will be much larger, I'm going to try and do my first advanced piece, so we'll see how that goes. :)
Flubbles (Apr 10, 2010)
The blue triangle shaped tool smooths the lines out.
enirroc (Apr 10, 2010)
That's what I've been trying to use, but I think my biggest problem is that I didn't make the picture big enough, and when I zoom in to work on details, I can't get the brush small enough. I'll keep trying though.
vlad.the.hamster (Apr 10, 2010)
if you turn down the flow a lot, the line gets smaller, and I think the smallest is 0.1 pixel, but you have to do that manually, not through [ and ] keys.

LAst year they put me on a medication called reglan for my stomach..and it ended up causing me to make breast milk as a side effect..it was not funny at all..I've been unable to have children for 14 years now..it freaked me out a bit actually..until they told me that reglan is also used on nursng mothers who don't produce enough milk on their own..very strange that a medicine used to digest your food for you would also produce breasdt milk.
enirroc (Apr 11, 2010)
do you think it would do that to people who haven't had kids before too?
backmagicwoman (Apr 11, 2010)
Yeah, it would...it's really weird..lol
firecracker (Apr 11, 2010)
Well, I'm not as old as flubadub thinks I am.....but I am a senior citizen....."lol". Actually.....my daughter is all grown up now, and she has two kids of her own.....so that makes me a grandmother, and I have four step-children.....and they all have kids of their own. Sooo....I have two granddaughters, and six step-grandchildren.......I guess that makes me "older than dirt"......"lolzzz"! :P

I spent 2 HOURS on a drawing I was working on, and the browser crashed and I lost all I had done to it. Not only was I actually spending more time than usual on a drawing, but I liked it. >_< So this is what I started. I'll finish it later.

EDIT: Chibi won't work for me anymore, and I need studio space, so I'm putting this as finished since I can't delete it. If a mod cuold move this to beginner, I would much appreciate that. Thank you.

I really just wanted the canvas space, not meant to be intermediate quality. (sorry) Bump it down if you can.

Can anyone guess what singer this is?

She's not dead.
firecracker (Apr 10, 2010)
I'm glad she's still amongst the living......she's very pretty, but I can't think of who she is......:)
Arique (Apr 10, 2010)
Belinda Carlisle! And I bet if you worked this more you wouldn't have to be bumped down. It's a great foundation!
Nekoampy (Apr 10, 2010)
Yeah, you're probably right.
