lol you guys. This is another great one Axil :)

your hands are beautiful. Hands are hard to draw.
Childlike_Vampire (Sep 9, 2004)
I am envious of your talent with hands. Also that is a really cool quote that I found quite inspiring. I like the red sketch lines and the messy coloring. ^__^

"The joints of the fingers are built like shallow
saddle joints; that is, one reaches up on the sides,
the other reaches down on the front and back.
In every case it is the more distant bone that turns
on the convex end of the nearer bone, leaving the
end of the latter exposed in flextion."

Always nice to show a hand with a joint.. at least it was back in college..
Aubrey (Sep 9, 2004)
Very nice fingers Axil. The way the hands are positioned is so neat.

this reminds me I've yet to finish the fingers in my pears drawing

"The little finger side of the hand sets across the
end of the forearm at a sharper angle than does the
thumb side.
It is narrower and never wholly conceals the rest
of the hand.
The pisiform bone, or heel of the hand, is always
conspicuous on the lower side of the wrist.
To it attaches the flexor carpi ulnaris muscle,
corresponding with the tendon of Achilles.

1 Pisiform (pea-sgaped) bone.

2 Flexor carpi ulinaris.

Sure! I'm sure he won't mind if we both show up to borrow his book. :)
Axil62 (Sep 7, 2004)
Most certainly. Say, just a thought, how do you two feel about jello wrestling? You know, just in case there's some sort of unfortunate dispute over who get's the book...not for me you understand...just trying to figure out a fair deal for you girls is all.

Pretty. It has somewhat of a Da Vinci sketch quality to it.

"The movement of the hand reflects itself as far
as the shoulder, through the biceps muscle, which
aids in turning the radius. In all movement but
turning, the wrist can act alone. Turning, to nearly
two right angles, is carried out by the radius. Fur-
ther movement of any kind must be performed by
elbow or shoulder."

"When the hand is employed in what may by contrast be called the intelligent uses, in which flexibility is necessary, it will have as a consequence greater freedom of movement, will assume much more varied positions, and will express much more readily the mental states."

I love these you're doing Axil. Drawings of hands in general are just great, like the one of the hands drawing each other, I think it was MC Escher who drew that. Hands are just so neat, in life and in drawings.
Axil62 (Sep 7, 2004)
So...more then?
Aubrey (Sep 8, 2004)
Of course! lol Silly :)
shell (Mar 3, 2011)
I like hand drawings I think hands are challenging to render, next to noses and ears. Ears are the hardest.

lol I wasn't expecting that ending Poppa :) I like the fella playing the piano Axil. The way his hair is light on the sides and dark on all the rest reminds me of Mister Rogers.

That is my favorite description of all time. Been a while since I laughed that hard. Thanks.

Nice job Axil, it's a very pretty picture. I'm glad you smoked and drew and then drew and smoked. It works out well for you.
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Sep 6, 2004)
This did turn out nicely. *waves hands in smoke and squints... cough*

This also reminds me of when my son was about 4, we had this little volkswagen bug parked over on our other lake lot, and he climbed in and played with the gears until it rolled into a cedar tree. He got out, came in, and proudly told me "Mommy, I drove the car." I had forgotten all about that. I wish we had kept that little car.
Axil62 (Sep 8, 2004)
Sell ya one.
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Sep 8, 2004)
I don't want the one you have, I want the one he rolled into the tree. It was my mother-in-law's before we got it, and she's still mad at my husband for getting rid of it. What was the tragedy of '68?

This is really nice! Since you drew it with the word bunny in it, I thought, could it be? Does Axil know the whereabouts of the illusive sock bunny that is missing????? LOL
davincipoppalag (Sep 5, 2004)
Did Volkswagen ever offer a Sock Rabbit?
Axil62 (Sep 5, 2004)
No but they offer rabbit bra's.

I like this type of body distortion and the fact that you left it colored in this sort of cartoon form as opposed to realistic coloring..it reminds me very much of this adult cartoon I used to absolutley love called Aeon Flux....I'd link it for you if I could.
