My grandma had wallpaper with those blue dutch designs on, and now whenever I see them, I think of those types of pictures as Grandma Paintings. XD
This is very well done. I like the texture on the thatch hut thing.

When the day is long and the night, the night is yours alone,
when you're sure you've had enough of this life, well hang on.
Don't let yourself go, everybody cries and everybody hurts sometimes.

Sometimes everything is wrong. Now it's time to sing along.
When your day is night alone, (hold on, hold on)
if you feel like letting go, (hold on)
when you think you've had too much of this life, well hang on.

Everybody hurts. Take comfort in your friends.
Everybody hurts. Don't throw your hand. Oh, no. Don't throw your hand.
If you feel like you're alone, no, no, no, you are not alone

If you're on your own in this life, the days and nights are long,
when you think you've had too much of this life to hang on.

Well, everybody hurts sometimes,
everybody cries. And everybody hurts sometimes.
And everybody hurts sometimes. So, hold on, hold on.
Hold on, hold on. Hold on, hold on. Hold on, hold on.

Warm. I like to paint with a palette knife, then you can touch the painting later and feel your strokes.
Axil62 (Feb 23, 2006)
yeah, or you can look at a reflection of a painting in a butter knife and then later, touch yourself and feel your strokes....
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Feb 23, 2006)
that, I did not know
Sweetcell (Feb 28, 2006)
LOL..... stunner Axil. The painting I mean.

I love the colours in this... the style the plants are drawn in reminds me of a pattern that should be printed on a silk kimono.
laurael (Feb 25, 2006)
I love this. For some reason, this reminds me of dinosaurs. The style. Does to...
Sweetcell (Feb 28, 2006)
It's a lovely little scene, the kind you'd see on vintage Victorian wallpaper
Pseudonymous (Feb 28, 2006)
I love how the shading was done for the sun. I like this style - it reminds me of one of my closest friends who is also one of the most talented artists I know in real life. :)

suzie (Feb 25, 2006)
The annimation is spell binding..its like watching you mould this out of clay or plasticine..fascinating. *Goes to watch again* :D
TaCO (Feb 25, 2006)
Looks like a clay mask
Sweetcell (Feb 28, 2006)
Well, that is one of the best animations I've seen, it definately looks like you molded him from clay, and though he is a little creepyfing, is it weird that I find him sexy?

Done from the same ref as a really big traditional thing I'm working on for school. My art teacher says he disapproves of digital art. I say he can kiss my ass.

what a strange thing for an art teacher to say :P (well not it isent really I had an Art teacher like that too but mneh thats why they are teaching innit ;))
Lovely picture wonderfull attention, you managed well to avoid the traps of either to much shade or to much light, the balance is very nice :)
suzie (Feb 25, 2006)
I love your shading, and the whole thing is so well finished. *kicks the teacher* :D
JoeNobody (Feb 26, 2006)
this one is very nice patience. You're right, don't listen to your art teach (about digital art), and you may have never heard it, but there's an old saying....."those who can do, those who can't teach" (no offense meant to the many great teachers out there who actually can "do")
Sweetcell (Feb 28, 2006)
Sad to say for a long while I was like your teacher, I always said computers took the heart out of art, but after graduating old school adv. art, only to find what you know obsolete because of the advent of computers, it makes one a bit bitter and stubbourne to accept it. But now I see the computer as just another tool, just another means to get my feelings across, and damn me if I don't do better stuff on it. At least with a computer if you make a mistake you can delete, try and do that on an ink drawing.

So the man is probably an old school dog who refuses to learn new tricks, too bad for him, I've seen the gorgeous work done on this and others sites, and trying these appelets I can say it's as much work as using a canvas and mediums. Maybe he should try first, then he'd have the right to say what he thinks.

And this, so beautiful and brilliant, proves that digital art can produse masterworks. The texture of her dress is amazing. It's a sad little picture though. Guesse I'm trying to say in 100 words or more is I love it.
