Not a bad pic--I think the background's probably what I like the most. Don't take this the wrong way--I'm not saying it to be mean--but you could use some more practice in anatomy. The facial features and the sizes of their hands stand out most to me, although his chest looks like it might be a bit big. Again, don't feel bad, I'm not trying to insult you--human anatomy is something that I'm still struggling with, too, especially getting the facial features arranged in the right proportion/places.

"Effort" doesn't always produce good art, it has to be combined with other things. I do believe in magic, but I don't think that's what happened here. You have it in you, and especially when you don't try too hard. When your "reins" get loosened, you'll be able to run. :)
