To my surprise, and my delight, I saw sunrise, I saw sunlight. I am nothing in the dark and the clouds burst to show daylight.

why does it say "begin" down in the left corner?
dorothyblueeyes (Aug 23, 2012)
very excellent, and great political piece. (how do you get the grid on there?you drew it?for the wierd perspective?yeah, that angle looks difficult. the five sided star is used for a lot of things, but also just to design. it's beautiful, love that it's the twin towers, thank you!

So amazing. One of the most beautiful photorealistic pieces I've ever seen.
dorothyblueeyes (Oct 7, 2011)
Very beautiful. I think I know the difference between me and many of the other painters here, now.For example, this is very smooth, finished, and slick. It' very professional. Good job. I do not tend to like going all the way to smooth, finished, and photo-like. I like the paint(figuratively) to look and feel like paint.I even like it similar to paint, messy and gooey. And there seems to be a tendency here, to like everything very smooth, slick, and finished. Guess I am out of the groove. I just like allowing for different styles, and different veiwpoints of what painting and drawing is.
Teapot (Apr 5, 2016)
Actually, Dot, this is quite impressionistic compared to the photograph, not an attempt at photo-realism at all.

I have a 12x48 stretched canvas, pure white, and I'm trying to decide what to paint on it. I set out on this piece with total abstract in mind on the horizontal. But instead, I ended up drawing this...oh well, good practice using the app anyway! Back to the drawing boards.....

How'd I miss this? I've been sitting here looking at it now for about half an hour. I wish it was bigger. I've gone through about four stages of thinking I understood the image...keep changing my mind. The death mask of the dying heart is terrifying. Powerful image and so beautifully rendered. That ribcage and foreshortened elbow are so lovely. I'm getting the same sense of horror from this that I felt during some of Jack Nicholson's mad scenes in The Shining.

“We need to support leaders around the world who do not speak for the big polluters, but who speak for all of humanity, for the indigenous people of the world, for the billions and billions of underprivileged people out there who would be most affected by this. For our children’s children, and for those people out there whose voices have been drowned out by the politics of greed. I thank you all for this amazing award tonight. Let us not take this planet for granted. I do not take tonight for granted.”
