Hmm, I think I prefer the turtle in the drawing. A lot sweeter and less able to bite off anything vital.

Not freaky, usually... goofy and cute. They make me smile. Turtles carry diseases you know, go wash your hands. :)

I forgot to say that what really initially attracted me to this is the shadow and highlight effect you used with your "signature" earthtone palette, I love it. You should do this same thing in a serious piece sometime, it's really effective.
