I noticed that a couple pre-made character pictures were ripped from dA artists.

Well, you -could- register lol but usually check out the premades and see which one you would like to roleplay. If none there suit you, check out the member-made characters page. You can make your own ^.^; Then, if you wanted to you could create something, or give an opening paragraph in the Frozen Mist board under fountain or something about how your character gets there.. just to show some more insight into how they normally behave and talk like. I suppose I should have done that awhile ago.. heh... ^.^;

So here's my question, is this a game? Keep in mind I really don't know much about rpg's and stuff. The only rpg I played was Dungeons and Dragons in the 80's, and suffice it to say computers back then were very basic, so what is this and what do you do?

It is a Role Playing Game. There isn't quite much to the game part, but mostly it is writing the actions and behavior of your character down into well thought out paragraphs. It's usually great if it all comes together like a story (hence storyline). For now there isn't much -new- to do on it, however more will be added soon.
You kind of play the role of a character of your choosing, picking their behaviour patterns and such and act it out, while interacting with other roleplayers. It's just a fun way to express yourself in a different way than you normally would. You could be someone totally different in an RP than you would be in real life.

No Problem Sweetcell ^.^ It's alright... I'm still slightly young-ish lol not saying that you are old or anything... I just started getting into these this year so my good english grades help me with it ^.^ Yay for literate RPs!
