forums2draw.netOekaki Shi - not loading

Ok, I've tried thrice now...signed into 2draw, gone to Oekaki Shi, drawn, decided to come back and finish it later and so click Upload, and -every- time I click upload, it says "hey! you don't have anything to submit"...so I try to back to my draw so I can try again, or take a screen shot (coz once it was half done), and the canvas is blank. Any idea why it won't let me submit?

Upload? Dude, that means you submit it to the site.. usually if it's blank it won't take it. Screenshot's a good idea.

What browser are you using? I'm not 100% sure what squee meant, since I once accidently submitted a blank drawing when I clicked the wrong thing 5 seconds after starting it. To get the screenshot to be posted here you'd have to go through someone with special access and get them to upload your screenshot for you, which may not happen if they don't want to.

Storm, if you posted a picture that is unfinished and want to go back to it, it's in your studio. If you didn't submit it it's prolly lost or it'll ask automatically when you go into the oekaki if you want to load the previous image.

Go with what redpanda says..

It wasn't a blank draw. I had something on the canvas, it's just when I tried to submit it it said I didn't have anything to submit, and clicking back, just took me to a blank canvas and it didn't ask if I wanted to load the previous image. The log in page also appeared once, although I'd already logged in, so I log in again, and then try to go back to Oekaki Shi, and it asks if I want to load the previous image, I click Yes, but it turns up blank again. I'm using I.E, and I don't think anyone would upload my screenshot...it wasn't a great draw or anything by the standards of this site :s Just something I liked.

I don't know why. but sometimes when I go back to an unfinished picture and click revise to work on it.. the canvas loads blank..so I hit "refresh" and the "do you want to restore your previous image" box appears.. if I click YES..it loads blank and the picture is history.. if I click NO..it loads? I don't know why this occurs..and it does'nt happen every time.. but next time..click NO on the image restore and see what happens..

When having problems with applets, here is a good general procedure to follow: (you have tried the first few of these already)
N.B.: between each step, see if the applets now work. If they still don't work, move on to the next step.

1) Restart the applet and load temporary image. This can be accomplished by pressing 'Back' and then 'Forward' in your browser.
2) Restart the browser (being sure to submit anything you're working on if possible first).
3) Restart the computer.

4) Empty the browser cache.
>> In Firefox, go to Tools > Options... > Privacy, and click the "Clear" button next to Browser Cache.
>> In Explorer, go to Tools > Internet Options... > General, and click "Delete Files..." in the Temporary Internet Files panel.

5) Restart the computer again.

6) Remove your current installation of Java (using Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs) and then install the latest version from Sun Microsystems, which can be accessed here.

7) Restart the computer again.
8) Seek individual help with the problem.

Dave: The reason that happens is because for some reason the current revision of the image failed to load into the applet. Then, when you press 'Refresh,' your blank canvas is stored on your computer as the temporary applet image, and it asks you if you want to restore the temporary applet image. If you do, it will load that instead of downloading the current revision as it normally would.

It's probably just a bug. Most of the applets have a bug here and there. It's no big deal.

Being unable to submit anything is a pretty big deal, I'd say.

Also, Storm, did you try seeing if you could submit with Lascaux Sketch? That would be useful information.

Ok, I just tried Lascaux again, and sometimes it submits...(and then I delete it, and it says it was successfully deleted, and then the you-don't-have-anything-to-submit page pops up again...) and sometimes it turns up with this: "Error submitting image. Internal Error: access denied (java.net.SocketPermission cache.lut.ac.uk:3128 connect, resolve)". I have a screen shot of this. Oekaki Shi still doesn't work. davincipoppalag, I did try clicking No once as well, sometime it loaded, sometimes it didn't, but those times it did load, I have managed to submit my work. I'll try doing what you said, Zack, I'll have to start from Step 6.
