somebody (Mar 8, 2005)
Excelent picture. There is a lot more light in this one compared to a lot of your other work. I like it. Great as usual

DeadlyBlondeArcher (Mar 8, 2005)
This is breathtaking.... like going from sea level to mountain climbing in a few seconds. The light play and shadows on that fabric is perfect. We needed something like this around here.
emmamommalag (Mar 8, 2005)
Wow, zep.. you are just amazing. That fabric looks so right and his face so thoughtful.
cyclops (Mar 8, 2005)
wow you drawing this upside down just amazes me even more O)
Kloxboy (Mar 9, 2005)
Excellent, great work. I like the composition and the colors, it's so painterly.
marcello (Mar 9, 2005)
drawing it upside down is actually a pretty good technique, it uses the other side of the brain and gives you a more accurate description (more drawing what is there than what you think is there).
Anna (Mar 9, 2005)
:-D Well deserved showcase.
davincipoppalag (Mar 9, 2005)
This is fabulous Javier! I wondered when you would do some realism style pictures. The headdress lighting is magnificent.
zep (edited Mar 10, 2005)

Suntan (Mar 30, 2009)
This is so fantastic, zep.
I can see your style in his face now, but from the thumb, I couldn't tell this was yours. :)

Lol yea hehe
estelleparson (Feb 20, 2015)
beautiful
dorothyblueeyes (Apr 19, 2015)
you use the other side of the brain? you mean, just take a picture, and view it very objectively, minus any meaning to the picture? your brain just photographs it literally?
Teapot (Apr 19, 2015)
It results in forcing you to see more accurately what you're looking at rather than drawing a preconceived notion of what something looks like. Everyone does that unconsciously. I'm sure you can get 'Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain' by Betty Edwards from your local library. http://www.amazon.com/The-Drawing-Right-Side-Brain/dp/0874774241
