I found this over at DA, but looks like The Wizards of the Coast are having a contest for artists to draw an illustration for a card in the upcoming releases.I may enter it depending on whether I have the time, but I just thought for any other fans out there, you may want to give this a shot.The due date is actually coming up soon on 11/15/04.You can pretty much make up anything you want just as long as it's got the creativity, game compatibility, and artistic merit according to their judging section.There's nothing to lose.Fans should try this.....it's all just for fun anyway.(Yes and the winner will have their name at the bottom of the card)

That is cool, I may enter! I was confused, it seems like you draw just the picture, but then how would they determine game compatibility and creativty. Are you supposed to do the whole card? I am not very familiar with the game, but I have seen cards of it before.

Well, I dunno exactly, but to take a guess, you might wanna look into the rules to see just how some of the basic gameplay is and then create an illustration off what you can get.I was personally thinking of drawing a creature card; preferably a black creature to get my imagination flowing some more.But no, all you have to do is draw the illustration for a card they are going to make.I think what they're saying is that they'll use your drawing to make a card however they see fit.So basically, you can draw anything as long as it seems like it has something to do with the game.

Maybe this can be the theme for this week. Although, I do think it is XOD week. <:)

It's not a theme thing (cause it's pretty much drawing anything you want).And besides, it would kinda go over considering the due date is next Monday.

im a fan of magic: the gathering n all, but i wouldnt be good enough for magic

Just thought i would warn everyone though that you should check out http://www.magicthegathering.com first and see what they are doing. I think there will probably have theme or some specs to follow. Just so you dont waste your time doing something thats completely off.
Yeah and you do have to be VERY good to be accepted.

Hehe.....well, there's no doubt about having to be good for sure if you have ever viewed some of the friggin awesome artwork they put onto those cards....
