anyone on here ever do prints?

im gunna be doing a few collabs with sixelab. they'll be printed and sold. but before i start i was wondering whats a standard resolution/dpi to use for printing? does anyone have any pointers on scanning for a good quality image, or keeping it less grainy as possible?

taking digital to the real world sounds like scary buisness.

It's actually not too bad in reality. If I were you I would check out deviantArt's print FAQ to see the issues involved with printing. IMO the only real hurdle is the funding to get everything going, but if you can do it through a site like deviantArt or whoever then maybe it's not really a problem?

Also, you might want a nice computer that will work well with those 100 and something mb files with 600dpi at poster sized 30"x20" =P

I think maybe one of the most important things would be getting a setup that you can work with. Even if it is a bit slow, as long as you can get it to do what you want without it crashing every 5 seconds, you should be alright. I'm not sure how important a new video card is, but with those specs I suspect that it doesn't really matter compared to your lack o ghz + rammage (ram may be most important cause of the large files).
