| Th3-killing-joke (Nov 30, 2008) When I open the app. it won't load and a popup comes up saying "There was a java error that may prevent you from continuing." Then it says that this should help diagnose the problem: java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space What's that supposed to mean, and what am I supposed to do? Please help T^T | ||||
| | marcello (Nov 30, 2008) what size canvas are you trying to draw on? how much memory does your computer have? | |||
| Th3-killing-joke (edited Nov 30, 2008)  400x400 and my computer has 221.8GB free | ||||
| | marcello (Nov 30, 2008) hrm. 400x400 shouldn't cause any huge problems... there is a way to increase the allowed memory on Java, but I'm surprised that you would need to do that. couple of diagnostic questions: what operating system are you running, what version of java, and how much ram do you have (not hard disk space)? | |||
| Th3-killing-joke (Dec 1, 2008)  Windows Vista, the Java version is 6.0.30.5, and I've got 3GB of RAM | ||||
| | marcello (Dec 1, 2008) Do you know if you are running Vista 32bit or 64bit? Try messing with the java memory settings following this tutorial: http://www.duckware.com/pmvr/howtoincreaseappletmemory.html the 300MB they suggest should be more than sufficient, but if you still get an error, try higher/lower. | |||
| Th3-killing-joke (Dec 1, 2008)  the tutorial worked, thanks! ^.^ | ||||
