it took you 8 comments to finally explain to the rest of us what that poop-lips comment was supposed to mean, its not obvious, many people including me would find that insulting no matter HOW you meant it, i dont think i made a wrong choice by telling you i found that offensive and if you're gonna release this kind of messages over the internet for others to see, you BETTER expect some angry people running after you, so dont complain when the others tell you, they think this is wrong.

chill man. he was just pointing out his darker-than-average lips, not announcing that black peoples' lips are ugly. he didn't say anything about african american race. plus, what if he did this to a white guy with dark lips? would you think that was racist too?

Yes, it definately isnt racist, racist wasnt the right word, but this kind of thing would strike me as odd to see, and i would take it as a personal insult to obama for having dark lips, which just plain doesnt sound right.

The man is bi-racial or a mixed race American and I'm sure proud of his heritage and chooses to embrace the African American culture? So be it...i see sort of an aura around his head, was that intentional, Axel? ha..or may be my monitor. ..otherwise, it's a fantastic likeness. ;)
This is a fantastic rendering! If the text were removed I think people would be compelled to vote for this man just by the power of this image. I can't help but think, if this picture has evoked some racial tensions, what lies ahead when Black/White or Male/Female are challenged on decision making based on bias. I wonder if the candidates have the strength of character to overcome the predjudices they will face and create strong unity. Beautiful art ... provocative.

I HAVE notice B.O.'s lips are pretty dark, too, which of course has nothing to do with ANYTHING, other than the fact that I'm an artist and I notice things like that.

Acknowledging a difference in race/gender/sexuality etc. is what makes us all "different" in the first place. If you just focus on the fact that we are all human and everyone has equal rights, then there is no need to assume that anyone is discriminating. Just because you feel "wronged" in someway or another doesn't mean its because of your background, that's just life. Anyways, I hardly believe Axil drew this with the intention of sparking political/anti-discriminatory debate in the comments section -- which has (disturbingly) taken off astonishingly --, so rather than focusing on this "issue" and provoking unnecessary reactions, I say hats off to the nice picture, it is very finely drawn.

When i was drawing my pic of him i noticed he had bobstained lips, but i thought i wouldnt bring it up, im glad i didnt now if it causes this much fuss.
.. Either way.. this is all just a good laugh. Get a sense of humor people and yes.. discrimination can be funny if you take the sticks out of your butts and just laugh along. Why else would black people make fun of us "crackers" so much..

Quite frankly I havn't been here long enough to know everyone's sense of humour or persona so forgive me for making that mistake. And twit I believe you are right, character is no excuse to justify your reasons for drawing something that might be taken as offensive, because not everyone who sees this will know what kind of person the artist is.
