A doodle. An inside joke. If you value your sanity, it's probably best not to ask.

Yay for crappy backgrounds! And I couldn't decide on a base color, so you can see a male and female color scheme by clicking v. 3 and v. 2 respectively. No! Of course I didn't do this just to draw those big beautiful ears and those gorgeous color markings! Now for the encyclopedia-like description!

Eurlets (YER-lit) are the docile, anatomically impossible creatures that Garden Gnomes can somehow communicate telepathically with. Until recently (it was only recently discovered that they could communicate), Eurlets were thought to be the most ignorant species on earth. When frightened by a predator, they would run for fifty yards at most, then just come to a complete stop, meeting their demise. Knowing this, it's not surprising that their numbers were rapidly decreasing in the wild (some would even die in zoos, leaping over fences and such). But these deaths weren't caused by stupidity, it turns out that Eurlets happen to be the most unselfish and generous creatures on earth. They would run from their attacker at first, but then start to think that perhaps that lion had a family at home, a wife and three small children, one had a limp and couldn't keep up with the other children. And perhaps he had just lost his job and they were all starving, and the youngest would cry and cry and ask why they didn't have any food. The Eurlet would then give itself up for the poor, starving family that usually didn't exist. It's also because of their generousity that they're more than happy to tote the gnomes wherever they please in Eurlet Chariots. These chariots aren't crafted by the gnomes of course. The Eurlet Chariot industry is run by a completely different race. The chariots run in a wide variety of models. Off-road, on-road, sport/luxury. Above we see a standard on-road chariot on a really crappy road that runs through really crappy hills under a really crappy sky.

It's been one of those days. But I honestly don't know where this came from. I hate it when symbols show up in my art and I didn't purposely put them there/don't know what they mean. It's okay sometimes when they're just subtle little things, but when something pops up, wacks you on the head with a bat and says "THERE'S A SYMBOL HERE DAMMIT!" it's just sort of annoying.

LOL, I hate those days, awesome drawing! very cool. Most of all i love the symbol. ^^
TaCO (Sep 5, 2005)
It's a simple drawing, but It has alot of Emotion.
silvercoyote (Sep 5, 2005)
Thanks. It's odd that it has emotion, since I was just sort of "bleh" as I drew it.

This black wolf shows up in my dreams all the time. Sometimes it's like I'm sitting in a small clearing in the forest, near a fire (though the fire's never seen), and he'll circle me, just outside the ring of light. Sometimes it's just him running through the trees. Sometimes he leaves red footprints, sometimes he leaves blue ones. But it's always in a forest, there's always snow, and it's always at night, with a bit of mist around. And it's not uncommon to see a black bird perched in one of the trees or flying above him. I'm not sure why he scares me so much. He never harms me in dreams, never growls, never bares his teeth. He might howl now and then, but that's about it. Running, circling the light, howling, it's hardly threatening. But every time he visits me I get this unnerving feeling that lingers a while after I wake up.

My friend has a wolf hybrid. :3
He promised me he'd show it to me cause I'm over obsessed with wolves. :D
silvercoyote (Sep 4, 2005)
Coyotes actually have nothing to do with me in real life. I picked this screen name a loooong time ago and then just kept using it for everything I joined. It sounded cool in the sixth grade, and it was sort of like "silverfox" (another name I used) which was my favorite snowball flavor.
And I thought owning a wolf hybrid was illegal....
inatyrb (Sep 4, 2005)
That's so pimpin. Love the style. Real etchy= Coolnes.. Awesome..
SanzoGirl (Sep 4, 2005)
It's illegal in some places. But not here. :3

Okay, DerrickEwing made a comment about my prissy-tailed cat (here) being something that was Mardi Gras-colored and not drunk. So I have him a few drinks. Several drinks. And now he's telling stories. Yay for drunk cats!

I wanted to thank the Texans for housing the New Orleans survivors in the Astrodome. So I made this crappy little doodle and officially proclaim today as "Hug a Texan" Day! Whoot!

And yay! Another one of my not-really-a-background backgrounds!

I don't draw monkeys often.

Hee hee. My favorite part is the prissy little tail. "Plants can't eat me cause I can wave my prissy little tail in their face!" ^^

Anways, these cats live in trees. Born in trees, die in trees, rarely leave the trees aside from getting water. They brace themselves against the trunks and latch on with retractable claws during particularly hard gusts of wind.

-snicker- The pansy-tail.

Edit: I forgot to mention how awesome this contest idea was. There's not many things I enjoy more than thinking up odd critters.

O.O Something with Mardi-Gras colors that Isn't drunk.
DinoFlorist (edited Aug 30, 2005)
Good job! I am glad that you had fun with this picture. I looked through your user board, and this is at least one of your top two. I like your creative idea, it is very different from most! Lol at your previous comment; your monkey looks hilarious.
renire (Aug 30, 2005)
This is a very good one. But the thing that worries me most, Is when this creature climbs down from the trees to get some water, the crocodiles may eat him/her! How will your creature prevent this from happening? Other than this, I love your drawing! ^_^
silvercoyote (Sep 3, 2005)
@Derrick: Ha ha, yeah. We should get the poor thing a daiquiri
@Dino: Thanks. I put alot of effort into this one, where most of my stuff on here is just doodles. And most of my stuff on here is really really really old. And yeah, I like the monkey too. ^^ The entire time I drew him I was humming the "Curious George" theme song. *snicker*
@Renire: Well, they have claws.... Plus I thought long and hard about that problem, when the solution hit me. They'll get eaten. There has to be something to kill one of them off now and then, otherwise they'll dominate the ecosystem, deplete their food supply, thus killing themselves off and the other species that depended on the same game that they ate. If you create a super creature that's invincible, it'll eventually starve. Check out nature, you'll find that everything has to have something that kills it.

Nothing better than corrupting an innocent person. >;D
Nice drawing, I like the use of the pencil like brush. <:)

I know, lots of fun, corrupting.
Thanks, I was going for the pencil look. Glad someone caught it.
nekodesu (Aug 28, 2005)
Once upon a time, I was innocent...but after reading several R rated Harry Potter fanfics, it was all gone. lol now I enjoy corrupting others. XD And niffty looking drawing there.
silvercoyote (Aug 28, 2005)
Whoa man. I can't handle fanfics. Those things are like... pure evil. Corrupting small, innocent minds is fun. I've got a group of freshman I'm currently working on corrupting. Muahahahahahaaa!
Thanks for the comment.
