It reminds my of Andy Warhol in a slight way. I like the use of color here, and I especially enjoyed seeing how your composition evolved as you went.

I'm not sure how you do that, but it's a very cool style. |

was actually trying to draw a friend from DA, I ended up doing my own thing obviously...but the F.A. song came on right at the end...
lori (edited Dec 19, 2007)
thanks you guys.... Zack, it was a black and white photo... I just kinda used my own colors on like half opacity and flow and some blend for a while... then started in changing colors while using dodge and burn tools and you must have a nice glossy monitor or something 'cause it looks matte here ;)
Zack (Dec 19, 2007)
Well, because a matte piece of paper would just burst into flames, whereas a glossy would discolor and melt first. :P
PS (Dec 19, 2007)
I like the colors.

It looks like a bronze statue. cool
Myuuzie (Nov 15, 2007)
This picture leapt from the monitor and kicked me in the face as I was scrolling down the board. The depth to it is awesome.
Zack (Dec 19, 2007)
Hey, I missed this one! It rocks out loud. I think Myuuzie put it best. |

I really like the your choices of where to put hard or soft edges, it's pretty different from most of what I've seen. Very unique sense of lighting.

I am listening to the funkiest song right now and this pic is just so right to go along with itnice depth and colors

Dr.Moony (Dec 19, 2007)
Very nicely done. I like your architecture stuff.
solve (Dec 19, 2007)
If I would have just seent he image I would have assumed it was one of klox`s works due to the colors and well made shapes. Nice view point on this location. I am a sucker for spiraling stairs and the palette you chose. Nice work : )
Trazor (Dec 19, 2007)
Thats a kewl drawing! only 41 minutes? wow... looks like it took a long time
Zack (edited Dec 19, 2007)
Thanks everyone. :] I think I went for an isometric viewpoint to make the blending between abstraction and shape-popping easier on myself. Making random structures out of the radiating lines and concentric rings emanating from a single point is an easy way to start off an interesting abstraction.edit: Also, I love dropping in sets of stairs because you can establish a sense of scale without having any people in the picture. |

I am not sure I get it either Dave, but I know I am way better at copying or having a model or something to look at than I am making the entire pic up in my own brain.
