I just decided to do some Aboriginal Art. And no, it didn't take me 10 mins, the progam went weird and I had to carry on with it, it actually took me around about 3 hours. What do you think of it?

Not sure if finished yet, it's a pic of my Scar Toy that I got from London, SOO CUTE!! The progam wouldn't let me paint anything after a while, so I couldn't put his scar on, I'll put it on later. What do you think of it? It's not supposed to look EXCACTLY like him, it's just a toy. And it didn't take me 3 minuets to draw, it took me about an hour and a half, the progam messed up as I mentioned earlier. XD

I'm not sure if I'm finished or unfinished! Still, what do you think of it? I'm not amazing yet, but it was my first time using layers.

There's certainly room for improvement. Are you using the paintbucket tool? If you are, I'd suggest not using it and putting some effort into coloring. Use the brush tool instead; it takes more time but gives better results. Tip for the layers: try putting the lineart on top, and use a layer below it (you'll have to add it yourself if you're using the Lascaux program) to color. People have different ways of using layers, but that's just what I do. Experiment more, and eventually you'll get the hang of it.

I'm a changed woman... Now.... I say, THANK YOU FOR THE TIPS,THE PAINTS I'M PAINTING, THANKS FOR ALL THE PICTURES YOUR BRINGING, WHO COULD DRAW WITHOUT IT, I ASK IN ALL HONESTY, WHAT WOULD LIFE BE, WITHOUT A SPLASH OF PAINT WHAT ARE WE? SO I SAY, THANK YOU FOR THE TIPS, AND THANKS FOR GIVING ME PAINT.
Sorry my brain stopped working and started singing a song for some reason, ooooh, I got it transplanted for an ELEPHANT!

Sorry it's not coloured, I would like to know if this is up to Intemediate standards?

sorry, it isn't. :<

intermediate pictures also have a requirement of a duration of 30minutes or more.
and that doesn't mean leaving the window open either +_=;

I think you shoud look up a reference to look off of as you draw, so you'll get the details, character anatomy, character design etc. down.

You may also want to clean up your lines, and experiment with layers so you can color it without going over the lineart that you've drawn.
Tai_Chi (Mar 5, 2006)
I've never been good with using layers, and I KNOW how to draw Scar, it's just it's MUCH harder on the computer, I WORSHIP Scar!!
mazi (Mar 5, 2006)
layers are easy to use, and you'll need to get used to them to survive a digital art community. just think of layers as clear plastic sheets and you can draw something different on each one to make a picture. usually someone will draw lines on the top layer and then move to the next layer down for colouring/shading, so you dont affect the lines when youre adding colours.

please please please experiment with the tools more before posting. there is so much more you can do with different tools. additionally, spending 5-10 minutes on a lot of pictures usually isnt a good idea. try spending all the time you would draw that many pictures in working extremely hard on just the one picture.

regardless if you know how to draw something, a reference picture never hurts. sure, i can picture a person in my head but untill i look at a reference i dont know for sure every little detail.

Oh, Scar is my fave character, I have never done him on the computer before, maybe if I do a different drawing, then maybe I could be approved? I like to do Manga, but whenever I do Manga, it always turned out to be really sad, or gory, or something to do with death, as you can see by my post on the beggingers board 'Why?'
Punky (Mar 5, 2006)
It's not the subject/content of the drawing, it's the quality.
Pakasutemanshikuka (Mar 5, 2006)
I always hated Scar. And I still do hate him.
Yes, some more practice on the beginner board =3
But, this is not that bad picture C:

Thank you, I am used to doing scribbles when I sketch, but it usually brings out the shading.. Ahah! That's what I forgot! I forogt to put in most of the shading! Actually, I'll see you guys later, look out for me with a different Scar sketch, I'm going to practice him until I get it right! See you later, and catch me on the begginers board!
