sorry the picture's so bad ^^' my hand i seriously hurting... like BAD. as much as i love my tablet it gives me wrist problems. so anyway this is a pic for my buddy to learn from cuz she just joined like 30 min ago XD again sorry for the bad quality pic ^^'

are you sure it's your tablet? One article I read said people who use a tablet in place of a mouse for everything (like I do) are at less risk for wrist problems. I would believe that, since I regularly use my tablet for many hours every day without problem. Maybe the position of your tablet on your desk is making you hold your arm at a strange angle or height? |

Hiya!I'm Erika, I'm new to this site. And I wanted to start my career (I don't know what else to call it. Ha ha :]) here with a BAM! Ya' know? I'm not the best artist, and what makes it worse I have a laptop, so I have to use a touch pad. But in my opinion it's better than a mouse. :] Well I just wanna say I'm looking foward to see what this site has to offer and all the fellow aspiring artists here and the great drawings! Criticism is greatly appreciated! Thanks so much! :]

I tried drawing on a laptop touch pad once and it was completely crazy. Maybe if the touch pad was the size of the screen and mapped to it, but I had no control as it was. |

I drew a couple of things on ratemydrawings.com rainbow fish paper world I think the tools we use here with lascaux are far superior, but they do have this weird fill tool that lets you draw the shape you want filled. Both of those drawings are made almost entirely with that tool and a lot of overlapping transparent shapes. It'd be nice if we h...

Congratulations to elvissiu for first place in today's "Wasted space" contest!The use of weak washed out colors and crappy subject matter is an excellent representation of wasted space.

dont listen to axil, that was pretty uncalled for, although you may want to use less faded colors next time and strsighten up those lines, try practiceing on paper first.

gosh...does anyone know what makes the freehand tool stop working? that's why I have so many different entries. the freehand won't leave a mark but it shows up in the history.
any help?

Maybe you made a very tiny selection somewhere on the page with the select tool? If you did, you might not be able to see it and you won't be able to draw anywhere outside of it. Just take the select tool and click once on the page without dragging to make sure anything selected will be deselected. If not, above the area where you change the size of the brush there's a series of buttons for pre-made brushes in a row. Try clicking one of those and then drawing. It seems to me that's worked in the past.

The coloring seems way too harsh. The highlights on their cheeks, for example, shouldn't be so intense.

I'm agreeing with Shanghai on the coloring. Looks like you went overboard with dodge and burn. The lines and coloring where you didn't do so much d&b are great looking by the way. |

That's a nice thing to make. I think that the person's legs seem a little blocky though? Maybe you could add some more details here and there.
