A little advice..
You can try to blend the colors together, especially on his trousers so that the drak shaidng doesn't stand out as much.
I usually do this by putting the watercolor tool on low opacity and blend, blend, blend until the the colors sort of blur/come together.
It takes some patience, time and practice, but I think you should do fine.
Hope that helped.
psychofox0 (Dec 19, 2006)
Ok, got it... I'll try that too... thanks Rukia.
Skai (Dec 20, 2006)
Alright, a little on the shading part :3 I've found it helpful to keep a little folder of reference pictures. For example, if I find something with really nice cloth folds (I'm bad at those.) I stick 'em in there in case I need help drawing clothes. You could do the same thing for a lot of the techniques you want to learn. Of course, it helps to have so many people helping you too. <3 Awesome sword, by the way.
psychofox0 (Dec 20, 2006)
thank you skia... so your saying to keep like a folder of pictures of different objects.... and study the way they are shaded.... interesting....
it sounds like a good Idea... thank you I'll try that too...

Hi ^u^ Welcome to 2 draw :3
Well, if you need some advice, I think you're better off using Oekaki Shi Painter or Lascaux, since they're more efficient than the other applets :3
Oh and when I came to 2draw I wasn't entirely sure how to use the applets too, so all you have to do is practice practice practice and I'm sure you'll get better :3
jackie_yatsura (Dec 4, 2006)
i think its bettter than mine.I use my mouse and i have a graphire tablet i could use :)
dorothyblueeyes (Dec 5, 2006)
You can get a Fellowes touch-pad on Amazon.com for as cheap as seven bucks(good way to start).I'm now using a Cirque Super-Cat touch=pad for my mouse(on everything)and I really like it. Saves your fingers a lot.As for us "learning by doing",is there any reason none of the Oekaki sites ever publish any manuals online?Even basic?Or is the best way to just experiment? I can't believe you can't learn techniques from a manual. It would sure save time and trouble.
