This is very pretty.. I like the soft colors. The title reminds me of my twins.. when they were very small, they had their own language, including names for each other. She called him what sounded like Eye-ee and he called her Laa.

I definetly think its intermediate standard :P. But perhaps you could striaghten up those eyes- she almost looks drunk lol.

Poor thing, she must suffer for my lack of skill with porportions... and mermaids in general. Hopefully she'll look more normal when I finish. Im not sure I like the colors, but I was trying to go for something a little different.
Dunno what to do with the background either. Debating weather I should go with an oddly colored sea to match the mermaid or not... X__X

the colors look nice together they are complimentary. I like the perspective. I guess the bottom of the tail is not quite "right" as far as proportions go...

I have too many unfinished work, so I decided to get her out of the way so I can not finish something else ^__^
The background and scenery was a little hurried, and I didnt even try on her hand. The crappiness is due to laziness! I swear!! ^^;

I love the reflection effect of the lightbulb! Or maybe there really is a little man inside the lightbulb. Do not turn it on, the little guy will burn! <:o

I'm considering this done. Fixed up the proportions a little, redid the background. I was never a painter, she looks a little muddy skinned, but oh well. I'm not a realist when it comes down to it, I seem to work from emotion. Hope you like it. Thanks for the comments Xod, Paka & Leck! :0) She's officially out of my hair.
