Thank you dave and Kute.....I am not sure it needs more work, a little more shading perhaps and the tail needs a ltlle attention and the beek is morphed into the beek shadow. Any suggestions? All are welcome.
I think if I were to give any suggestions (mind you I am no expert) I would add some more detailing and darker shadows to the main branches that are more upfront and to the hawk itself (the part that is frontal and under the wings) to give it more definition. His beak is sort of lost among the surrounding part of his face so you may want to define that a little more. You are far better than I could hope to be but those are the only things I would do if this was my draw.
I love to watch raptors in action but the hawks have done a number on the birds at my feeder ... I've seen them nab a cardinal and a mourning dove, and my husband saw one clip a blue jay. They are beautiful birds, though!
OH Meno, we had the same thing happen at our lake home. It was like I set up a trap for the birds to be nabbed by the swooning hawk and then they quit coming to my feeder. I was so sad.
