Love is the red the rose on your coffin door What's life like, bleeding on the floor
Wouldn't it be grand to take a pistol by the hand? And wouldn't it be great if we were dead?
These are two randomly selected songs, that I decided to read the lyrics of. Regardless of how subtle and deep these lyrics are, they both display a profound amount of tight pants, and makeup. Emo/scene crap is probably the coolest thing since goth, so uhh.. You can say what you want about the "pop/punk rock" band that is My Chemical Romance. The facts remain they're still a bunch of whiney 17 year olds who don't smile, or at least advocate such behavior
The urban dictionaries most well reviewed description of Emo is this.
Genre of softcore punk music that integrates unenthusiastic melodramatic 17 year olds who dont smile, high pitched overwrought lyrics and inaudible guitar rifts with tight wool sweaters, tighter jeans, itchy scarfs (even in the summer), ripped chucks with favorite bands signature, black square rimmed glasses, and ebony greasy unwashed hair that is required to cover at least 3/5 ths of the face at an angle.
I'll still go out of my way to bash this stuff apparently. Long live the confederisah
errrrrrrrrrrrrrrr okai and there not a bunch of 17 yr olds ho dont smile. like gerard way (the lead singer) is 22 0.o
and just coz there emos doesnt meen they dont smile.
This "emo" argument bullshit is pretty gh3y.
Listen to City of Caterpillar, A Day in Black & White, Pg.99, Hoover, Rites of Spring, Books Lie, Moss Icon, Fugazi, and Transistor Transistor, then try to tell me they all sound like MCR .
And most members of actual emo bands have short hair, wear t-shirts and regular or loose-fit jeans.
Not only that, but emo's a subgenre of hardcore punk that tends to integrate elements of post-rock (in the most contemporary forms, at least) that originated after the "revolution summer" of D.C. hardcore with bands like Rites of Spring, Beefeater, and Embrace, which is now leaning more into screamo-esque emo, save a few more traditional acts like Fugazi.
For those who'd actually care to look into some real emo, I'd highly recommend Rites of Spring, seeing as it's the most common among neophytes to the genre, and my personal favorites, Pg.99, a Day in Black & White, and City of Caterpillar, the latter two more vividly expressing the contemporary's post-rock roots.
I know, being a super genre l33ts musicfag elitist who is a fan of the subgenre and of all hardcore punk. Oh, and I've never been to 4chan, outside of /mu/
and anyway I only drew because i was bored and they're my favorite band so can everybody just shut up I mean does any of this crap actually matter?
It's only a picture so shut up with your big fancy words correcting my grammar and that It's just a picture this is a site for drawing not for discussing what you have to say about the band!
um and can I say something about his whole urban dictionary: Genre of softcore punk music that integrates unenthusiastic melodramatic 17 year olds who dont smile, high pitched overwrought lyrics and inaudible guitar rifts with tight wool sweaters, tighter jeans, itchy scarfs (even in the summer), ripped chucks with favorite bands signature, black square rimmed glasses, and ebony greasy unwashed hair that is required to cover at least 3/5 ths of the face at an angle.<yer that and all I can say is I'm offended
