the Lord I believe in is not imaginary or sexist - and i'm sorry you feel that He is :(
I hope things go better for you too. I know it's really hard sometimes - especially when you feel like you can't see the light anymore.
I've been there way too many times.
(edit)
Some people claim to be Christians - but everything they do goes against their so-called beliefs. For example: they protest and show hate instead of loving others no matter what. These people are so quick to judge others and point out their flaws, when they can't even see their own faults.
I've seen way too many churches where everyone is so judgmental of you - your clothes, race, sex - everything. But that isn't God... It's the people.
These people portray Christianity in a terrible manner - through their hate. It isn't supposed to be that way.
(now I'm not saying everyone has to be a Christian, cuz that's just not me. -i'm a follower, not a leader- but i've seen other people with other religions that are so nice and caring. - for example, There was this monk visiting various college campuses and handing out these books with information about Buddhism - for a donation of course. He was the nicest guy, and talked to me about all kinds of stuff - unlike those other crazy people with the megaphones yelling that your going to burn in hell... how nice. have a balloon. -_- )
... ok I'm done with my rambling. It's just that I've seen so many of these people and they're just so crazy mean sometimes. sorry :)
--in a nutshell, I hope you find something if you haven't already - and wish you the best of luck :)
thank you penpen (:
the thing im struggling with is how in the bible, it says women do not have a place to speak in church, and it is a shame to do so. thats far from the truth
I'm new at this draw 2 and don't know, if I'm allowed to comment about something more than once But I think a person's feeling in your heart
and mind should guide you, unless you feel guilty or wrong and you are honest with yourself worship the Father the way you are more comfortable. to many worldly beliefs are involved in some churches or some old time religions, there has been some good ministers that are
women, "katherine Koulman" was a very good minister and that was in the 50's-60,s era. As I spent alot of time getting shot at in Viet Nam,
I found my Lord in the jungle not in a church. He walks beside us everyday, What ever you want he is still there, just talk to him.

you're welcome :)
Right now I'm under no specific branch of Christianity because I've had a hard time finding something that "fits" me.
however, i did find a bible study group that is very open to everyone - we've talked about so many things - stuff the church never would have taught in a sermon. -i even brought that monk's book and we talked about it! and our bible study leader is reading it now :)
and guess what, our bible study leader is a woman! so ha! women do have a place to speak in church - and she does a better job than most pastors i've seen. :P hehe

yep you're allowed to comment a bunch of times! I agree with you - and i couldn't have said it any better :)
There's a song that says, "I'd rather see a sermon than to hear one any day". Some people talk the talk but don't walk the walk. I believe the 'walk' is what's important in this life. The Lord's last commandment was for us to love one another as He loves us. If everyone really lived that commandment, what a different world it would be. Don't give up hon..He won't give up on you. :)
if your feeling is as you say, maybe you can be as forgiving as he was...?
I do not know. It takes ALOT of concentration for me to find answers I need that way.
I wish you luck, nevertheless, in whatever path you choose.
All I really remember of my particular religion is reading the entire bible when I was about 7.
Since, I have had my own son and now they have much more comprehensible bibles :)
So, I took the wrong rd., nevertheless... and this is what I got. ok? Just think about that and go with your own personal instinct, that's my opinion. Throws hands up.....;)
the most important thing to remember, in my opinion..is to always remember He will never give up on you.
Many things are difficult, if not impossible in this realm, to understand about the mind of God. That's where Faith comes in....and trust.
The timing of God is perfect. I believe this now more than I ever have. Just always know that He loves you, and created you to be who you are, and has a plan for your life.
When my son was O D' ing on Crack and Heroin at age 14, I could have screamed where were YOU GOD! But, it was Him who saved his life. Him that carried ME, too, through that hell. Now, 8 years later, my son is fully committed to being clean/sober and has turned his will and life over to the care of God. He says he's the happiest he's ever been in his life since making the decision to serve Him.
I believe in miracles. The impossible becomes possible, with God. I hope you find your way back to Him, too.
The particular passage you are speaking about was set in the time of the Church at Corinith. This was a church just starting out. In this church, the women sat on one side of the church and the men sat on the other. When something was said that the women didn't understand they would call out to their husbands and ask them what it meant. That was when Paul wrote this in the bible, addressed to this church. That was how my preacher once explained it to me and it certainly makes sense. If you will study the Bible a little more, you will find that there are many women in the Bible that preached the gospel. I think one of them was Phoebe. I hope that helps you some. Please don't give up on God! God won't let go of you if you will look to Him. :o)
