Here is my theory on beginner intermediate and advanced.
The following chart should explain it all..

~Acceptable levels of proficiency on each board~

Beginner: (1) beginner level (2) intermediate (3) Advanced
Intermediate: (1) intermediate (2) Advanced
Advanced: (1) Advanced

You see, it's OK to do above level work on a lower level board, just not OK to do a lesser level of work than the board you are on.
