Luckily i was aware of what I was doing whilst doing it. Which is rare, mostly my mind goes blank after doing something handy.
First I fooled around with colors, then put it on dodge and set the texture, activated the gradient tool and started playing. Softened it up a bit, sharpened, did it quite a few times. Gradient tool is a good friend, before I wasn't sure if dodge and burn are good for anything, but they came in very useful. Normally I try to steer clear from the texture thingy, because it can look very mechanical and too arranged, if you know what I mean.

When you say texture do you mean the 'd' tool on the lower left of the canvas, below the layers window? If so I have to try that. It does look like fluffy wool, it must cause I'm itchy now. :)

Yup, lower left of the canvas, I played moth with the bottom one, cause the top one is too regular.
