Auxiliary is a word that refers to a band's visual component to their field performances. They can include the color guard, dancers, or majorettes.

Octillery, auxiliary, they sound the same. Sad pun I came up with, not really funny anymore. :D

For me the word "Artillery" always came to mind (refers to any engine used for the discharge of large projectiles in war.)
But with artillery, it wouldn't have made for as humorous a picture. :)
