New icon. Timer is off a smidgen. Just got my first tablet so this is the trial run. Any tips on shading would be wonderful that bit seems to be a pain in my ass! : D Well any tips in general would be cool too.

When your doing shading and highlights it's always best to know where the lightsource is coming from. If the light's coming from the right (our right) then the shadows will be on the left of the dragon, so when your putting in the shadows it would follow the left curve of the dragon (and slightly under where part of his body crosses over itself)
Now if you move him up you can give him a longer body, he'll look more powerful. Since your using red on the hair and whiskers use green for his body, they compliment (the grey is not exciting) and if your having trouble making proper curves even with a pen the bezier is a great tool to exploit.
And every dragon (Asian or European) has some kind of ridged belley, you should try that. Just make sure the belly and sides/back are seperated (sides and back should be... well scaley) :}
And don't forget highlights, that would come from the right (where the light source would be or left again depending on where it is)
And maybe add a few flowey ridges on his spine to tie the whiskers and hairs together. A blue bg would set him off nicely.
And you need to give him eyes (poor things blind *sniff*)

I hope you take these just as suggestions. This isn't bad, it just needs more. It looks imcomplete. Oh, and just one more thing (sheesh won't she shutup?) when your doing lineart try the airbrush, it'll make much cleaner and smoother lines. :)

Adding to what sweetcell said.. if your going for a metal look~ like if this dragon was made of chrome make shure you do lots of black shadows and strong white spotted highlights it will make it more metal looking. chrome coloring can be tricky and will take some tinkering to get used to it.. but dont be descuraged! go for it!
