Bad bad baaad computer, you should give it a reprimand. I think I know what happened, you probably watched this board and hit the draw button that makes it automatically end up here.
There are real handy tutorials on how oekaki's work and function, those will give you knowledge on how to draw better. The will to make something is there, skill is just a bit lacking.
I'm certain that it used to work that way, with the site assuming that if you're on any board when you hit the draw button that you want to draw on that exact board instead of giving you a list of boards, but it doesn't seem to do that anymore. Since the canvas size is 402x300 that's 2 pixels larger than the largest allowed on beginner's board so when submitting it probably didn't give the option for beginner board at all.
I kind of like this style. The detail level is low and only the important things are drawn, which causes you to focus on what's happening rather than get distracted by what you're seeing. The composition isn't too bad either. Mostly there needs to be refinement of technique- making lines that are intended to be straight actually be straight, having the right amount of blending where needed but without blurring, and getting those hard edges (like around the girl's cheek and the sky behind her) to still be a hard edge but without the roughness of pixels.
It's actually kind of nice how the heavy red on the left is about the same amount of heavy black on the right, creating a bit of balance. It's also good that the boy's eye is red so that some of the red from the girl is shared by the boy, just like some of the black from the boy is found on the girl.
I really doubt she cared about composition, style or balance while drawing this, but okay. The square head is kind of cool though.
I really think you should put more effort into your stuff though.
If I had the power to move this to Beginner, I would. After looking at moonlitwe's gallery and considering the 2Draw standards, I can safely say this is not Intermediate. Unfortunately, I can only move pieces to Intermediate or the Contest Board. Hopefully a more powerful mod will take notice and move this piece to the appropriate board.
I agree with Enjoy, Punky and Klox. I and several people have asked for more time and effort spent so the boards aren't flooded, and I hate repeating myself over and over. I'm sure when Mai or someone sees this and others she posted on Inter they'll be moved down appropraitely.
