Contest Week 52: Perspective *Two week contest.

Your goal these next two weeks is to paint pieces using perspective. It's something all artists learn to indicate depth, distance, and dimension. You can do a landscape, portraits, animals, still life, as long as it shows perspective. This will also help you to understand how perspective can bring life to a 2 dimensional draw. The main points that will be judged is perspective, proportion and use of shadow and light to bring that perpective across. Good luck and please do not copy other artists work.

Foreshortening refers to the visual effect or optical illusion that an object or distance is shorter than it actually is because it is angled toward the viewer.

Vanishing Point: A vanishing point is a point in a perspective drawing to which parallel lines appear to converge. The number and placement of the vanishing points determines which perspective technique is being used.

Person at the Window

Designs for a Nativity or Adoration of the Christ Child; Perspectival Projection.

A Hunting Scene

The Mountain

JUDGING CRITERIA:
Creativity: The amount of imagination, originality and expressiveness that was put into the entry.
Technique & Effort: The amount of style, skill and craft that was put into the entry.
Following the Theme: How well the entry followed the theme of the contest.

This ones going to be a hard one to judge, there are a lot of good entries so far.

I agree, not that my opinion has that much merit. Gah, though, and again GAH. This is the first contest I've been strugglign to find the time. Between switching jobs, moving, and house-sitting.. whichever. I've got a few more days.
