Looks good so far. She must be Australian. ;)

It's hard to paint anything upside down, even if you can feel your fingers. This is great so far. Red boots mean trouble!!!
kejoco (Feb 11, 2007)
yeah, i wanted to challenge myself by drawing it upside down...I think i can flip it when i'm done.
I really have to see a doctor about my hand
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Feb 11, 2007)
I tried that and I couldn't do it, it made my neck hurt... I kept tilting my head to try to look at it right side up. :) So... you weren't just cold? Did you get frostbite or something?
davincipoppalag (Feb 11, 2007)
Wow..that must be a bitch to do.. carpal tunnel maybe?
PS (Feb 12, 2007)
I've heard that drawing a subject upside down helps you draw more accurately. I guess your brain gets confused and doesn't know what you are trying to draw and it sees just the shapes that make up the picture (which would be a good thing because our brain sometimes sees something like an arm or other body part and automaticaly comes up with a generic symbol which it makes us draw even though it won't look like it does on the subject we are trying to draw. I'm not saying that happens to everyone, mostly with people who are just starting to draw or paint). But anyways this is a good start.

Great job on this! Never figured you for a cowgirl pin-up kinda guy though.
kejoco (Mar 5, 2007)
Who doesn't like a pin-up girl??
Miss_DJ (Mar 5, 2007)

HunterKiller_ (Mar 5, 2007)
Excellent job! Upside down drawing is a great challenge.
Sweetcell (Mar 5, 2007)
I loved watching the progression on this one. You were bold to attempt drawing her upseide down, but I understand why you righted her. Everything about this is too cute and wonderful. I should try another pin-up picture myself.

Or maybe it gives me a different ideaer.
davincipoppalag (Mar 5, 2007)
THis finished up terrific...but I find myself wondering how you made out with your hand at the docs...
kejoco (edited Mar 6, 2007)
I went to the doctor, he thinks its carpel tunnel.
Prescribed a splint to wear at night and they are scheduling me for some nerve conductance tests.
Might end up getting some surgery, resulting in a cast for a month, which means I'll probably be off work for a month on short term disability.

Sweetcell, I highly recommend you doing another pin-up, or whatever your other idea may be...such as a contest where everyone does a pin-up
Pantera (Mar 6, 2007)
This is lovely, I want the boots and hat :) Hope your hand is feeling better.
monk (Mar 8, 2007)
Nice job kejo....knew it was yours right away. Now about that hand, quit pullin the ol' stranger for awhile, she'll come around. Had the same problem myself back in 78'...almost broke my wrist......anyway, keep up the good work.
mooseflower (Mar 13, 2007)
My art teacher made us do an upside down contour line drawing of this abstract drawing by Picasso and it was the most aggravating thing I have ever done. Good on you for keeping it up for as long as you did (and for making it look great overall).
