hey guys.

as youve probably noticed ive been straying from digital art lately, been exploring new things. most of the summer ive been doing spraypainting, but im still artistically hungry for new things to try. new mediums. ive been looking for something more my style. spraypainting is amazing, i love it, but im about the white-est unghetto person i know and i hate saying im a graffiti artist. and the spray is huuuuge. and if you know my style i like more black detailed line work and fine blending. so while i love it, im not sure i want it to be my main medium. looking at the airbrush work it looks fantastic and like i might be able to do the same as i would with spraypaint but on a much smaller scale, which is more my style, and 100 more things..

has anyone ever tried airbrush? what equipment do you need? how much does it cost to get into? etc etc

thanks

My friend has an airbrush, but the compressor is not really working. That's why he hasn't produced anything yet.
But spraypainting sure is fun! I tried to do some graffiti and failed miserable... still it's great!

I've never tried it, but i do know that you would be looking at a considerable sum for the equipment.

I have an airbrush and I love it. I just dont use it latly becuse I have no room in my appartment to work with it. The airbrush that I use is an Iwatta that does very small detail or wide spray so its realy flexible. For an air compressor you really only need a small one perferably with a resivor tank so you dont have to use the motor the whole time.

Kayos is right. I too use an airbrush occasionally. I have an old devil bliss, a Pasche,and also an Iwata. I have a small compressor also, but would like a larger one, I plan on working on larger projects. Look up bear air for a basic run of the mill supply of the airbrush world. :}
Also colored pencil is nice. You can make colored pencil look like airbrushed work. Look into a book called the best of colored pencil. :}
