It was meant to. I wanted the Queen to look as miserly and greedy as possible, and quite a bit manipulative.
Actually I tried to put a ton of symbolism in this, which I will probably forget later anyway. =D So I might as well write it all down!
The black pit in the background symbolizes (mostly the sphere and cat) being trapped in the darkness and chaos that the queen has control over. While the person who represents the sphere is trapped within her claws in a bad position, perhaps they are a sphere of light because they already found out what she was like and now she is draining them of everything she wants, yellow bolts of upset and stress shooting out of them.
The cat can still try to reach for the outside, the light of the situation, even if it also has loyalties to its greedy master. I also made the Queen's stomach pouchy, to symbolize an over usage of wealth or affluence. This is also why I used a lot of green tones, to symbolize the wealth that she keeps all to herself and lies about.
The golden tones in this picture are cast only by the crown and jewlery, simply material extensions; I was trying to show that her actual noble, righteous heair, is indeed only a false act she casts over herself.
The overlaying shades of pink/fuschia, what I tried to make a more unnatural shade purposely, was what I thought would look like her false sense of compassion. The cat is still affected by them, is still unsure about them, wants to believe they are real.
The red directly in the middle of her crown and pendant was me trying to show that she is ruled very much also, by anger, along with the greed, and the blue veins in her hand is her sucking the power and will out of the blue sphere, as it begins to dwindle down.

I dunno, can she?
