Contest Week 15: The Scene
Your goal this week is to illustrate a scene. Choose a scene from your favorite book, movie, TV show or video game. The scene should include 2 or more characters. The characters in your scene should not take center stage, you want the whole -scene- to be important to the viewer. Keep in mind this is one scene, not a series of scenes like a comic book. Be original and please do not copy other artists work. Things to consider adding to your scene (BUT NOT REQUIRED): - A background, middleground and foreground - An event, story or action to tie all the elements in your drawing together. Contest "Week 15" will be open for entries as of 5/21 9:00pm PST to 5/27 11:59 PST. CLICK HERE FOR WEEK 14 WINNERS JUDGING CRITERIA: Creativity: The amount of imagination, originality and expressiveness that was put into the entry. Technique & Effort: The amount of style, skill and craft that was put into the entry. Following the theme: How well the entry followed the theme of the contest. Please memo Cloxboy if you have any questions or comments about the Contest Board. this is a good idea, although to me it sounds like more work, i would consider a 2 week contest if you want ppl to put effort into characters and scenery. it was sad to see so few enter the last contest, i stupidly forgot to unhide my pic. anyway, congrats sweetcell and good luck to those who enter

I disagree. I think 1 week is enough time, and the contest will be judged with that knowledge, so it's not really an issue.
I'm guessing the reason the last contest was a bit thin was due to people being busy with finals and whatnot. |

hey... HEY! Clox, I just felt the need to express an appreciation for the time, effort, and "finesse" you have put into orchestrating these things lately. When I don't have the tme to participate, I love watching what the other artists do, and they realize so much more potential when they are well directed. Ever thought about directing? ;) You could have a director's chair with "Cloxboy" on the back. Course, you'd have to stay in one of those horrible trailers.... no star or name on your door, but... yeah... :)

I can practice until I turn blue, I can't do people.. I just don't see the features when I try to draw them.

Sweetcell (May 22, 2006)
If you need a scene to pick Dave there are PLENTY of war movies, my favorite has always been Kellys Hero's. When Donald Sutherlands character is blowing those Germans at the depot up all the while playing a Hank Williams Jr song. It was moms favorite as well. Me, I think I'll bow out, I have too many unfinished pics. Love what I've seen so far though.

I think you are doing a great job with the contests too! :) I intended to enter last weeks but things go hella hectic around here. I plan to try to get something done for this one.

DeadlyBlondeArcher (May 23, 2006)
I really want to participate in this one, but everything I want to do doesn't follow the guidelines. (go figure) Maybe I'll slap one out for the contest board and then do what I want on another board just for the hell of it, because.... because I can.

DeadlyBlondeArcher (May 28, 2006)
damn, you're smart... those are the 3 I had personally chosen! ;).. (not in that exact order, but if I had to decide that part I'd still be shuffling them around and it would never be finally judged... it felt kind of like shoe shopping in a way, I'd never completely make up my mind) Congratulations, ya'll. That was such a fun subject, I really enjoyed watching that one.
