While you're at it, you could put a short tutorial here on the functions of those tools and how to use them... or a long, drawn out one in the wiki. I played with them but I still don't get it.
Well.. I guess that if YOU want a tutorial then it has to be from someone that is superior to you at this subjet.
An other Elite Bastard or something...
As for the rest or us... common artists like myself... I won't object if you do it...
hehe... ok............
So you just used paint all the time.. I see...
Well I guess it was hard for me to believe that you don't use it.
On the other hand its not a must.. :)

THANK YOU! (see, she's known me for a while) ;)
There are a couple of other artists here that know how ignorant I am, if you need a second or a third on that
Dodge and Burn are best used to add shading and highlights DBA. I always put the base color on and then use the two tools for highlights or darks. Color Dodge and Color Burn are great at adding color while your highlighting and shading. It's how I got the highlights in my HAL pic. But as for you knowing diddly, well hell teach me realism teacher. :)
BTW, this is the bestest painting ever seen in the history of this site. I mean it.
You made that guy push a peanut down a gravel road with his nose, I saw you.
(thank you Sweetcell, someone else here was kind enough to tell me that much already and I still can't make it work the way I think it is supposed to. It completely changed the colors to something else when I used it)
You have to choose a color DBA. If you choose white then it won't work... For the highest intensity choose black.
BTW... It doesn't work on black or white paint...
I was going to say mikron that choosing different tones of the colors not just white or black helps too. If your doing a highlight in red try all the tones of red to get subtler highlights. Same with burn.
Just remember to keep the flow and opacity LOW, or else you got a whole buncha mess on your hands.
ok so how DO you grab the colors off the canvas? I see little 'blobs' of paint people have on the canvas sometimes and wonder how they do match it perfectly each time. I just usually do a lot of guessing/checking myself.
Miss D right clicking on the colors does it. It's like the dropper in Paint. I do sometimes make little color blobs but if your shading or blending then the color blobs won't match the painting. I think it was discussed on another piece Marcello drew. If you have a tablet the button on the pen can pick up colors too. *smoochies*
