It's been a while since I've posted here. I've been practicing a lot in my sketchbook, drawing animals, foliage, buildings, and skies and also been doing at least half an hour of constructing figures every day in hopes of getting comfortable drawing and creating enough things to start doing complete fantasy art drawings/paintings.

Anyway, here's a quick made-up tree using a scribble technique I'm learning with pen and ink.

Thanks guys. :) I really like what I've found so far in pen and ink techniques since there are a lot of very practical and economical ways I've found to render all sorts of textures. I want to move into practicing medieval accessories soon: armor, weapons, jewelry, etc. I really want to create some cliche-style fantasy art: dwarves, elves, trolls, etc. (maybe progress towards more original subjects eventually). I was a big fan of role-playing games and knights in armor and stuff when I was a kid, and I tried to draw that kind of stuff throughout childhood. I'm hoping I can develop the proper technique in time so that I'm not just doing childish doodles anymore.

solve: I'd love to do a collab, but I must warn you that I'm not very good at it. I think I've already made Cloxboy tired of the one I started with him after doing multiple revisions of fussing over my mistakes.

Its cool man, I am the same way. Patience is a virtue.

Nice little sketch, I am a lover of all fantasy since I grew up with it with comics and D& D as well. It is my very favorite genre. Space fiction is next. Nice to see you doing things here also. You have to start working with color though, your a little shy and tentative when it comes to color. Do more comd, your pieces break up the confluence of all the manga here.

Thanks - I'm trying to avoid color though. It's my drawing skills that need the most work. Doing color can come later, once I learn how to draw.

once I learn how to draw.

...that made me laugh. :)

Wait a minute, then your monkeys been doing all the drawing?

Cheeky yes. Fudgepot comd, fudgepot.
