yes, I have been awake for the past 29 hours and I still have another 6-7 to go before I can rest, but my site is ready for my gallery show tonight.

http://www.tamulheim.com/

in the future I'll add more and expand it, but for now it has enough content to satisfy my expectations for this show. Now I need to get ready and go down there to setup things before the show starts. Notice how many of my artworks on there were made in lasqaux~ *mentions*

Incredible. What a good way to make a site.

Shanghai (Mar 31, 2006)
oh, I still need to finish up a couple things like the site map, which was never finished in the first place and is now out of date since I changed the layout some. The version in the gallery will be an offline version on the hard drive with things removed like the links page, which wouldn't work when it's offline anyways. *goes off to the show*

nooo! another succumbs to mystery meat navigation! don't go there!

p.s. it'd be sweet if you mentioned lascaux somewhere on the site.

at the reception my advisor was there and was looking through my site, plus some other students I know and another teacher. I left early though, so I didn't get to meet all the people that came, but it went well.

it's a really cool idea and well done. i also, though, felt like i wanted to see more. you could do so much and add so much detail to make this insanely amazing

as it progresses I'll be adding more. For example, the area called Juno was originally going to be a small city you could go into on another map but I had to cut some corners to get done on time. Since I'll be using that as my website from now on I was planning on updating about once a week. So, eventually there'll be a lot of places and characters, and more stories. By the time the semester is over I'll have a large portfolio collection there.

I agree with... erm... Nobody. Talk about potential for a quote out of context. Anyway, in this particular case I don't mind the mystery meat navigation because the site is all about exploring your work. I was hoping for more polish and detail myself but I really love the idea, and since you're going to keep working on it I could see it becoming something quite awesome indeed. Good work so far, and keep it up. I know I'm looking forward to strolling through the town.

"Help, come quickly!" he shouted at one point, and his fellow Cyclopes came running.

"What's the matter?" they called in at the mouth of the cave.

"I'm blinded and in agony," roared Polyphemus.

"Whose fault is it?" they shouted back.

"Nobody's," said Polyphemus.

Solid idea. This would be even more astounding if done in flash 8, nevertheless, good site.

Shanghai (edited Apr 2, 2006)
I've been wanting to learn flash, and was about to take a class in it this semester, but I'm already learning 2 other programs and taking a full schedule of classes so I was thinking I might try to learn it over the summer on my own, or maybe take a class next fall. Also I need to get my hands on a copy of it at some point.

-oh but in Director MX I am able to make flash files, and I will be in the next few days for another project.

Director sucks. Don't use it. =P

Shanghai (Apr 2, 2006)
I have no idea why we're using it or why it's a required class. One of my other teachers was surprised to hear we were still use that program, since she thought it had started being phased out a while back. It seems very clunky, and I keep getting painfully low frame rates when I try to have very many sprites.

It's a very pretty site :) I like it, so I'll keep checkin in for updates. Well done.

I just finished an oral review between myself and two faculty members. I was a little nervous considering it was only the single most important 30 minute period out of an entire 4 year art program, but I think it went well.
