thanks, poppa! I'll tell you a story about birds,..and why they touch my heart so much...19 yrs ago, I was raising my 2 yr old alone, and fairly destitute monetarily. It was Christmastime. Someone put my name on some church's list of people who could use some help. About a week before Christmas, I got a call from this church and they asked if they could stop by because they 'had a few things for me and my son..' I said sure! (and was so grateful and surprised) So they arrive and one by one, walk into our apt carrying paper bags FULL of all sorts of goodies for us! Presents for my son, Christmas dinner for me to cook...and even some Christmas lights! I was moved to tears I couldn't believe their generosity. Right before they left, a young man walked up to me and said, "I almost forgot, I made these for you"...and out of his pocket, he gently pulled out 2 origami birds, one made of bright paper, one made of foil. They were beautiful! I gave him a hug as I wiped away the tears running down to my smile. Every single Christmas, those birds are perched on my Christmas tree, and I am reminded of the true Spirit of giving from the heart each year.
That's the kind of story that makes me not give up on people,Donna. I'm glad things are so much better now, and that you have that kind of memory from such a difficult time. (((Donna))
A beautiful story Donna, no wonder you're so kind and giving over the years. Giving you a hug myself and very glad to know you. This draw matches your story.
Can I just say one thing, not to take from the mood, but he looks ready to pull out a top hat and do a tap dance. LOL.
