doing these gives me this huge urge to go get a kiln and all the stuff to do pottery. I wanna make something 3 dimensional and warm and full and rich and good.
I had a ceramics course in college as a "space-filler". I loved doing that. They had the potter's wheel and the glazes and all that. I made this large vase which was shaped like a Maltese cross (it had negative spaces in the sides), and was abouit 2 feet tall. That was such fun.
Pottery was a given at my highschool, and like rosemary I did plaques, I just couldn't get the hang of molding a pot on that darn wheel. Great pot Axil. How many times can one say pot?
I've always thought Dad's house in Glacier View would be the perfect place to do the whole pottery and kiln thing with that huge garage and giant studio above it and that glorious picture window looking out onto the surrounding forests and valleys. We'd probably have to buy the clay from somewhere though. Soil from that kind of mountain terrain probably wouldn't work on it's own. I think we should try to get it back from Linda. You have my hands aching to hold and mold some clay now.
I would love that...the getting dad's place back and having that huge studio to do stuff in and trying to sell it. not just pottery, paintings and such.
