:-) Rosemary: I am convinced it's the mouth that's crooked. There's a lot that's off, I'm sure. The more I fuss with it, the worse it gets so I think I'm gonna leave it. I'm trying to find a way to be accurate without being a slave to accuracy so that I can concentrate on expression and a particular emotional content for a portrait. I think it works pretty well with this one because I chose it for it's feeling of benevolence and whimsy. It makes me smile, too.

Halfway between Harry Potter and Willy Wonka, I think. Brings to mind that quote, "We are the music makers, we are the dreamers of dreams."

I think in the ref the glasses are tilted down more to the left, which would explain why the left eye seems a bit high here. I only notice it on prolonged viewing though. Great subject, it's a very happy picture.

I love all of them, but I have to say that I liked the first version the absolute best when he had a longer nose and chin and the look was a tad more painterly.
