Ok, the text thing is hard to work, and i looked around in the tutorials and docs, but couldn't find anything on it. How do you work it?

hehe neither do I...I'm hoping someone has mastered it, because it's going to be a pain doing text by hand...ugh

Writing text? Psh, that's easy.
First, you select the tool (duh), then you choose the size by changing the "pt" thingie (in the size&pallete box for shi pro), Then you type in your text, then you press enter. BUT! You need to still have the blinky cursor thing there or it wont add the text to your picture. Hope that helped. :) |

As far as I know, though, you can't select a font or style for the text, so in many cases it'd probably be best for you to draw out the text yourself.

I've tried to use it about 10 times and gave up. There's the text tool under the set of tools that has the dodge/burn/soften tools. But then, there's also a text tool under the menu that has the colour and texture palettes. That one opens a window and allows you to choose font/size etc. I've tried using them separately and together in every permutation I can think of and nothing has ever resulted in text appearing on the canvas.

I gave up....I did it half Zack's way. Drew most of it, then manipulated the picture with text in gimp workshop thingamajig. Was so much easier that way! :)

And here I thought I was the only one who couldn't figure it out. I can see making the size, I can see the placement on the canvas, and I can type the script but I just CAN'T set it. Marcello, any help?
