I think you should use the dodge tool, (layers if you dont use them) also to get rid of your pencil line, and make just a few lines with the dodge tool for the sun. I think if you do that it will look more real. ^^

I'd say look at a picture of an actual sunset, then look at your drawing, then look at the picture again, then ask yourself things like, hmmm...what's different about my drawing than this picture? What makes this picture look like a sunset? What makes my drawing not look like one? You know, things like that.

I also agree with Axil62 on what to do. :D

Don't be discouraged by negetive criticism, keep practicing and try new things. Also remember, don't post everything, a few good ones are better than a whole lot of bad ones.:)

I didnt think, giving people advice was negitive criticism. Besides, he wants people to give him advice on what OTHER people think he/she should do to mke it better, that is not nessasarily criticism.

Alright MBS, how about this; Keep practicing and don't get discouraged! (that was the core message in my last comment)

Mybettastorm, There is one thing i think you forgot to mention: How the use of layers. Make its much easier to keep the horizon line defined and how using the layers to making sepertions or in this case, the water/fore layers and the sky as the background layer. Then after having set the colors the way, wanted. use of dodge tool as means of adding lights or brightness. (for those not fimilar with the dodge tool)
Like in all things and ART. Art; no exseption this is something that over time will get better and better with practice.
So any advice keep a steady eye and keep on drawing. If your hearts in it don't stop.
