Yay... First time doing fabric on 2draw... so I chose something really hard. 'Cause I'm, like, smart and stuff. Oh yeah.

wooh! moving on up! welcome :) looks like you've got the basis for this dress started really well

You used excellent shades of red. I'm almost sure it'll look beautiful when done. I'm not a great artist, but some of the edges look alittle thick and messy like the straps on the dress.

Aaaack! This is taking so looong. But I like how the fabric is coming. The dress in the ref is white, but you know what? I made it red. 'Cause I'm more a red kinda gal.

The timer lies... probably tack another 45 minutes onto that. God, I'm slow.

I love the dress, it's really nice color red, and colors, this is great. :)
Ceido (Jan 21, 2006)
The texture of that dress is really cool. Looks like one of the ones that is supposed to be really really creased. Nice skin tones too. :)
SYTHE (Jan 22, 2006)
looks sexy, and I agree, "patience is overrated"!

The way you've used your colour palette in this drawing is excellent, especially in your shadows. Beautiful! The girl; her face, neck, arms and parts of the hand are shaded to give the impression of dimension. That gets lost as the eye moves to the dress...the picture takes on a flat look where the fabric of the dress meets the background. I think a more detailed edge and shading/highlighting on the fabric would integrate it into the dimensional feeling you've gotten at the top of the picture. The hand needs to 'sink into' the fabric of the dress a little so that it looks connected to the body. You've put a lot of work into this and it shows. A little bit more and it will dance right into 'Wow!'. Patience, without reason, is a stupid waste of time. Patience applied with intelligent forethought can mean the difference between mediocrity and excellence. Sometimes. Sweeping generalizations are overrated.
