layers.... layers. you can always try looking up some tutorials for photoshop, alot of the layering stuff is similar to lascaux sketch (in terms of blending modes i think).

other than that, i'm going to be working on some tutorials in the future, kinda hard to just write it all out without some visual examples. and stuff. and stuff.

Jesus Christ....the layering system is so fucking simple, but NO ONE seems to be able to figure it out. God damn...did you even TRY to figure it out? Or did you look at it and go, "oh gee, lookit those squares in the corner! I wondurr what day doo??" GOD!! Just EXPERIMENT!!! CLICK THE ICONS!! SEE WHAT THEY DO!! You don't HAVE to create a drawing every time you get to the SCREEN!! I didn't have anything to go on when I started drawing here. So how did I figure it out? I TRIED OUT THE FUCKING BUTTONS!!!-------I'm terribly sorry. I'm in a really bad mood...Writing this actually made me feel a bit better. Again I'm sorry, but please, DO try out the buttons. (sigh)...

basic concept: imagine having 2 pieces of transparency. when you fill up the bottom layer with say, blue, you can see the blue colour through the top layer because you have not drawn anything on the top layer. but when you start scribbling on the top layer with a black marker pen, you can't see the blue on areas where you have scribbled.
go to lascaux sketch, add a couple of layers and draw random things on each layer. then move the layers up and down (by dragging them) to see how it works. your observation should be: stuff on the upper layers will cover stuff on the lower areas. your conclusion is thus: lineart should be done on the top layer and colouring on the bottom layer :'D likewise, the background should be at the bottom-est layer :'D
