A gift for my boyfriend. Looks like the kind of character he'd role-play... I hope he likes it! ^_^
Oh, and I added a post that describes the texturing technique.

Oh, by the way, it looks better than the thumbnal shows and it really looks better when viewing it on a black bg skin...

o.O
it looks really cool!!! how did you create a texture like this??
marcello (edited May 26, 2003)
Mess with the paper texture settings over on the bottom left of lascaux. You've got halftones and diffusion... eventually I'll include some predefined textures as well (anyone want to make some for me? :-) )

Niifty. Although it's a little dark; hard to see him. I like the hair.
Sererena (edited May 26, 2003)
Actually, that's not how I did it Marcello, but it's myy secret ^_^
marcello (edited May 26, 2003)
ya well, there are other ways, but they take a lot longer than they need to ;-)
diagonal crosshatching comes to mind... using spacing as well

this is pretty....yes, I love the texture....looks like you drew it on rocks. :3

Ok, here's how I did the texture:
1. get a 1px solid brush, full opacity and full flow, and turn the spacing to max.
2. Select an off-white color
3. Make a new layer additive layer at about 40% and put it on top of your drawing.
4. Zoom waaaaaay out, and just make a bunch of horizontal lines, moving back and forth, down the page.
5. Repeat this with vertical and diagonal lines until you are satisfied with the texture.
6. Clone the layer, and make this new layer Multiply. Put it BELOW the additive layer.
7. Now zoom waaay in, and use the move-layer tool to move the layer up one pixel and right one pixel.
8. Play with the opacity of each layer until you are satisfied. You may have to darken the multiply layer a bit. Do this b grabbing a big burn brush and, using even strokes, softly darken the texture on this layer.

X'D the instructions look so complicated, but i really like how the texture turned out!!
maybe i'll try the texture feature marcello was talking about :')
everytime i use lascaux, there's something new to explore :D
